2006 Foose “Stallion” Convertible Mustang

In response to the strong demand received by the prototype coupe launched during the Woodward Dream Cruise, Unique Performance and Foose Design developed a convertible version of the 2005 Foose Stallion Mustang. Both vehicles feature custom front grille and hood, new front and rear fascias, lowered stance, custom-designed wheels, and interior touches, as well as specialty products from DuPont’s Hot Hues, Ford Racing, JBA, Baer Brakes, Kenwood, and BFGoodrich. “Our vision for this convertible is really going to turn heads and excite Mustang fans,” says Chip Foose. Unique Performance will assist with engineering and developing the modifications, while OEM supplier Tecstar will handle engineering, validation, and assembly. Both models of the Foose Stallion are on track for production in the first quarter of 2006, with a total of 3000 coupe and convertible Stallion Mustangs to be built a year. Prices will range between $38,000 and $40,000, depending on options and performance packages.

Not a fan of the red, but the lights could be throwing it off. Black Nitrous wheels, very nice.

I normally like his work but I think he was too fast in getting a product to market. Sold himself out..

Foose does everything in two tone. Sometimes it looks great, other times it's too much IMO.

I'm leaning toward this being a "one too many" tu-tone project.

I like the wheels. The two-tone is two-much. And the body kit seemed to "box" the 'Stang -- which may be because of the picture, or because the body-kit sucks. Either way, not for me.

Boooo I think Foose needs to really move on from the two tones, Its two too much I think.

A really hot single candy with some nice ghost pinstripes and less mono chromatic look would have been much hotter.

A really hot gold/ champaigne with suttle silver fleck and some off grey pinstriping with those nitrous wheels in the standard chrome and a nice drop and a body kit, with parchment interior and a really sweet interior job I think would have won me over.

to me it just looks rushed and un-original. Especially comparing it to the BFG giveaway car and about half of the current season of overhaulin I can honestly say I am way over the my car got a giant brush run over it.

In person, Its actually ugly.

And for those of you who DONT know, Foose began this project as just a consultant. When the company came to him and said they were going to put his name on it because of all of his input, he agreed. He told me personally months ago, that because he did not rework a lot of metal, it is not something Foose fans are used to, and he is not surprised it is not popular with hard core Foose fans.

I gotta say too, just because the man agrees to put his name on a project he had a lot of input on doesnt mean he is selling out. The man is and always will be an absolute genius when it comes to cars, and extremely nice guy to boot.

He will continue to do the type of cars we have come to love from him, but who can blame the guy for wanting to keep making some money?

I think it would have been better if they had used more related colors..black and dark blue, black and MG...something less contrasting.

I think Foose is just marketing to free up more cash he can use for the projects he loves to do. You have to have some financing to make custom everything cars.

He puts his name on a car he admit not being a big fan of and then pockets money... Thats the definition of sell out..

I did not imply he is not talented because he is... VERY TALENTED.. But come on.. This is not a FOOSE car as we have seen in the past. I can slap ground effects and paint and re-do my interior... Not rocket science...

Of course this isn't a Foose car we have seen in the past -- this is a PRODUCTION car. He is known for his one-off master works, and this is completely different. Plus, he is known for taking old cars and making them look different and clean, in a modern sort of way. It is a different game when you start with a clean, modern looking car to begin with. And then be restricted to pricing and distribution logistics of a production car.

And for the sell-out talk, if you had the opportunity to have a run of 3,000 cars per year sold under your name, wouldn't you do it? Even though it meant taking design direction from a company (Unique) to make it look more like some other car (GT500E) and be forced to take short cuts for the sake of production/distribution (amount of clearance, ease of production, cost factors, etc.). I certainly would, and be damned proud to do so.

I don't call that being a sell-out, I call it striking while the iron is hot. Granted, I wish Unique would have let him have a little more freedom, but it certainly looks better than Roush, Saleen and even the new Shelby CS6/CS8 IMHO.

Don't forget, this is no $1mil. Impression (which wasn't two-toned by the way), this is a sub-$40k production car. Stop comparing apples to oranges because this isn't a one-off wonder.

You guys want to see a genuine Foose car, drop off your car with $100k and see what he can do with it.
