Like I've been saying all along, the dealers are charging by weight.
Guess ya'll heard that the Shelby GT500 name has been dropped from the rear medallion on the car too?
If this is any indication of what we'll see in 29 days, they can keep their "Shelby."

What shame on the weight.
Its gonna need every one of those supercharged horses to get a decent acceleration number.
I must say, I am disappointed somewhat.
Anyone know what the 05/06 SC Saleen and 03/04 Cobra coupe/vert weigh in at?

:notnice: What a fat-a___ oink oink! I guess this means the Vette will remain the big dog in this category - since the Shelby will be dog meat at this rate even with the "extra" 50+ horses. At least the car has a nice personality, right? Get a clue Ford, in the world of speed, might and light make right.
I'd like to remind everyone that the GT was supposed to be 3600lbs at one point about a month before release too ...
But, if it is true, its just another notch in the belt of me not getting one. At one point I was looking forward to it ... Now, I'm lukewarm at best.

I had a lot of fun with fat chicks before I got married.

That makes a good point for being on top.
as for the shelby, this things gonna need a diet, we otta
gut the doors, remove the rear seat, toss the wheels, throw the body kit in the woods, get rid of all this power/heated BS and then we got ourselves a car
Sheesh, seems easier just to buy the motor and put it in a 89 notch.

It will be interesting to see the results on a head to head performance comparisson between the GT500 and a '03 or '04 Cobra. Over all the GT500 should be the winner, but by how much?
In the beginning I was quite excited about the Shelby - from the pre production photo's and info, but now and IMO...
1) Overweight
2) No twin-screw blower which is more efficient and produces less heat - hello
3) Vinyl stripes and few color options
4) A hood that... (thinking of kind word... nope) SUCKS !
I love what the've done to the engine internals and the six speed tranny, but not enough for me to take the jump at this point.
.. I'm waitin

Hmmm. All it took to kill everyone's enthusiasm was the weight of the car...
