V6 Clutch & Flywheel Upgrades?
A neighbor of mine needs a new clutch & flywheel for his 06 Mustang V6 Coupe. Just 30K miles, but he & his wife are tough on clutches (young and still learning), both work in downtown Seattle (steep hills), and they have huge/heavy 20" chrome wheels on this car. Our shop has the clutch out and it is fried (hot melted spots all over and down past the rivets so the flywheel is shot, too).
Any suggestions on an aftermarket solution? He does not want another factory clutch, but something more durable with more clamping force, but retaining easy pedal effort (dual friction, most likely). Centerforce and SPEC both make clutch kits that are major upgrades from the factory piece, but we can't find an aftermarket flywheel (steel or aluminum OK, but aluminum preferred). Can anyone point me in the right direction for a flywheel and experiences with aftermarket clutches for the 2005-8 V6's?

I am by no means a pro on the matter nor do i have an aftermarket clutch. Most 4.0 guys swear by the spec clutches and i am not aware of ANY flywheel alternative unfortuneatly.I have been in the market myself.I can refer you to talk with jenna at forced 4 whom is quite experienced with the 4.0 and deals parts as well.>http://forced4.com/contact.html
