I was looking at Consumer Reports, they said there's a huge difference between the 6's and the 8's reliability. The V-6 was worse than average and the V-8. I find this hard to believe. The 4.0 has been around since Moses and the 3V 4.6 is relatively new. Has anyone here had any issues or problems?

Mine is doing ok @ 423HP... Thats 65HP to spin the Blower, and 32HP in drivetrain loss to produce 326RWHP SAE @ 12psi..

They are smoking crack.. Obviously a political stunt to hurt Ford! Not gonna work! Because we will be here to prove them wrong!!

It is Consumer Reports, 'nuff said!!
I wouldn't use their advice to buy a toothbrush.

BTW-my 6 is doing extremely well-no concerns. In fact, we have not had a performance or any other engine related concern with the 4.0 at my dealership.

Well said. I wouldn't trust what you read in consumer reports.

I wouldn't use consumer reports to wipe my rearend, let alone use their advice on any substantial purchase, and I assure you it's not just because they bad mouth mustangs. 05's have some minor problems that may pop up, but from what I hear the 06's seem mto be cured of this. As for being less reliable than the v8, the v8 has more TSBs out for it than the 6 has.

Can't speak to the 4.0, but my 4.6 equipped 96GT has been trouble free for 10 years (5 years with a Vortech supercharger)
