This is rather funny in a sad kind of a way. I have about 1.5 inch between the brace and the hood, but it rubs against the engine block. Mine is also going back as well. I tried driving with it and it improves handling noticeably. Not drastically or anything, but noticeably. I have a V6. Now, assuming they are made to the same spec it might be they they don't fit either V6 or GT well. I guess good thing is that they are essentially handmade, so the clearance will vary a bit from one to another. They are not very expensive, so it is worth trying them again I would say.
Have you tried using a couple of extra washers to raise it slightly?

Sorry for the delay in responding - I just came back from vacation. To answer your question, it was the first thing I thought about. Unfortunately after the strut brace is on there is not enough thredding on the bolt left to put the nut on after a washer is under the brace. On the bright side the seller was very good and refunded me the money I paid.

Well, I got my refund from and am ready to try a different mod.

As an aside, I highly reccommend buying from MustangTuning.com as they have excellent customer service and were very helpful (much better than my experience with Steeda) and gave me my full refund and didn't charge me the restocking fee, etc.

Nope. I just fit a few "spacers" under the one I have & it gives JUST ENOUGH clearance.

Are you saying your steeda brace was rubbing on the engine cover? I thought they were rubbing on the hood liner?

I have a STB (one of the $50 ones off Ebay)...

And, man, is it close.

When I first installed it, I thought all was well, but at higher rpms, I could hear a weird buzz. I checked, and the engine rubbed against the brace ever so slightly. Luckily I have a hydraulic pipe bender, so I started making minor adjustments.

Finally, I did manage to get it up off the engine, and just barely touching the engine liner. There's probably 1/16-1/8th clearance over the engine.

If these things flex even a little bit in shipping, they're going to be off. The fit is just too tight.

I do however love the brace. It makes cornering so much more enjoyable (and safe too).
