You may want to check at what your tires are rated at, not sure what they put on the V6. May want to upgrade those if you are going to go faster than what they are rated for.

Any reason they those 143mph for the GTs? Why not 155 like all the european speed machines (i.e. BMWs, Mercs).
That would stink hitting the limiter 12 mph before M3 your racing.

It is not a matter of driving the car at that Speed or higher, It's an issue of Not Being Able To. Even If You Needed to, or Wanted To! :bang:
I feel your pain. I was Opening my 97 Thunderbird LX, 4.6 V8 up on an Open Deserted Country Road one night Only to Find that at 108 MPH it felt like My Car Shut Down! I was P'O'd!
My 89 SuperCoupe Would Inveribly Run 120 on the Interstate. I was told it has something to do with the Driveshaft on My 97 T-Bird being Lighter Weight and it Flexing is why Ford Added the Limiter/Governor. As well as the Speed Rating on the Stock Tires that it was sold with.

Just got back from the Ford service center and the service mangier told me that it is not actually a speed limiter but the comp turning off 1/2 the cylinders at 111mph. I asked him if there was any thing that we could do about it, he told me that not at this time and not by Ford, that I would have to wait until the hypertech or some other company came out with a re-programmer. I also asked him that if I did such a re-program would it void the warranty, he assured me that it would not and for now that I would just have to be stuck at 111mph.
Thanks for the great input
If there are any other suggestions please feel free
