For the money I'd get an MGW short throw shifter. They don't get any better than MGW for a V6 setup.

I'm also very happy with the Hurst on my GT. Some people do think the MGW is worth the extra money. It would be great if you could compare the feel of different shifters at a big car show or cruise-in.

on the MGW shifter is it the same for a gt and v6? I only see one transmission listed and that is the 3650. Do the gt and v6s have the same transmission. I know hurst has two different models

MGW makes a version for our 4.0's that is specific to the T-5. Call em to order it specifically. It can be set to 50% shorter than stock as it is shift throw adjustable. The Hurst is only one length setting at 35% shorter than stock. I have mine set to about 7 out of ten max turns on the adjustment and it feels a little shorter than my friend's Hurst...Both are great options. The MGW runs at $299 and the Hurst about $180...and you get what you pay for...

thanks that explains it perfectly I am surprised that they dont list the shifter for the VI on the mgw site, but i will likely go for the MGW. know i will have to wait a another few weeks for the funds to increase

The FRPP shifter is a hurst shifter, as far as I know. Which seems kind of silly given what they are charging.

Yes. You can order it with a shift rod thats 12x1.25mm top thread for stock ****, or a 3/16" hurst threaded rod. Also they just introduced a series of MGW custom retro classis look rod/ball combo's and a "concept" shift **** (which I have and am trying to sell as i also have and like the Retro white ball)...PM me and Ill make you a great deal....

Go with the MGW. I have the Hurst and will one day switch to the MGW. I hate the rattling problem that simply will not go away. It looks great and performs pretty good, but I can't stand the rattling. You won't be sorry with the MGW.
