My friend has a Jetta GLI here are his specs
Horsepower : 180 hp @ 5500 rpm
Torque : 173 lb-ft @ 1950 rpm
Redline : 6700 rpm
Top speed : 145 mph
0-60 mph : 6.9 sec.(manual), 7.5 sec.(auto)
0-¼ mile : 15.7 sec @ 89.0 mph(manual)
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft.
200 ft skidpad : 0.79 g
Those are really close to our V6's, so the winner was determined by the launch generally. I launched really good twice, and once I was ahead it basically remained that way.
I chirped 2nd good, and did a baby squak to 3rd.
The time I lost, I did a horrible launch. Basically I launched right from idle, so it felt like it was about to bog. It seems launching at around 2kish is the sweet spot.
He has 10k miles on his, and I only have 630 on mine, so i'll race him again to see if theres any difference.

Guess what I just realized, not sure if it would've made things more clear (including tastier chirps), I had my AC on at level 2.
I know it'll affect performance, but is it enough to make me look better against him?
I'm gonna see if I can run him again.

Not trying to jack your thread, but dont feel like making a new one just for this..
Not many people in town will play with me now that I have my mustang... and Ive had it since back in early December. I -finally- had someone rev their engine at me last night! I was doing 60 though a clip of road, where its 55 mph, headed into town around 2 am. (I was hungry going to McDonalds!) I had passed this guy in a BMW 325i, as he was doing around 55ish in the fast lane, and as soon as I was a car length ahead of him he came flying by and braked several car lengths ahead of me. Im on my last leg with the cops, and this is a highly watched strech of road, so I didnt even respond. When we got to the first light in town I glanced over at him, revved the engine a little, and as soon the light turned green slipped the clutch just beautifully so that I only squeaked the tires a little around 6K when I shifted, and left him eating dust. I took him two more times before I made it to McDonalds where I gave him a wave and turned off... we never took it above 60 in a 45 mph zone, but Im sure it wouldnt have made a difference. By then I was already two good lengths ahead of him anyway.
Hah! I finally have a story to tell!

Awesome Bimmer kill.
lol about the 760 one
I also killed a 3000GT, but even my friends Jetta beat it so if you see an NA one it isnt a big threat.
