I finally made it to Portland International Raceway! Somehow, the Mustang gods were smiling down on me! I raced three times against three different Mustangs! And, broke consistently into the 14's! I'm very pleased with my first time out!
I was in the left lane each time. I powerbraked each run, launching around 1500-2000 rpm's.
I brought my wife along to take some viddies... 'scuse the shakies and the wild pans and zooms... she wasn't even drinking!
My scanner isn't cooperating, so here's the vital info from the timeslips...
First run - me vs 95-98 Mustang GT - Smoked 'im!!
http://www.transcendingtouch.com/mus...6_vs_oldGT.mp4
R/T .740 .823
60’ 2.204 2.687
1/8 9.534 10.807
MPH 73.71 69.03
1/4 14.907 16.481
MPH 90.63 87.17
Second run - me vs Cobra (I think it was a 99-04) - not even close! ha!
http://www.transcendingtouch.com/mus...6_vs_Cobra.mp4
R/T .427 .047
60’ 2.214 2.517
1/8 9.534 8.824
MPH 73.95 87.21
1/4 14.885 13.224
MPH 91.07 107.30
Third run - me vs 99-04 Mustang GT - kept up pretty darn well!
http://www.transcendingtouch.com/mus...6_vs_newGT.mp4
R/T .208 .085
60’ 2.259 2.327
1/8 9.597 9.592
MPH 73.98 75.75
1/4 14.948 14.803
MPH 91.13 93.61
There was a lovely 05 Mustang GT there. When we talked, he was running 13.9. I also talked quite a bit to the driver of the older GT. He works at a parts shop in my town... said he could hook me up with a supercharger, but we didn't get into details.
So, any tips on how to improve?! I'm hooked! I'm going back! Yeah! Whatta rush!!

Thanks guys! I cannot wait to go back! Maybe next Friday!
I thought she pulled really strong up to about 80, then it was more of a strain. There also seemed to be a good bit of wheel spin... I'll try launching at a lower rpm next time.
Rygen... yeah... it really is a rush!
If I have Doug firm up the shift points on my X-cal, will that help with times?

yes, you can see some nice gains with firmer shifts...

Yep, firming up the shifts shaved 3/10ths from my time. Definitely worth doing. Sounds like you need a "track" tune!

Rygen... I think I'm answering my own question here... is a track tune only good at the track? Rather... will it also work ok on the street?
So, when you guys go to the track, do you take your X-cal and reflash there?

I have a "track" tune for my car for my nitrous, it has the nitrous tune on it, along with firmed up shift settings. But I think Doug made Afixer a track tune that had more aggressive parameters. So you are only using it at the track and not putting the car under that stress during daily driving.

Yep, i take my tuner. My nitrous tune has the timing backed off so i won't detonate. I could run my nitrous tune on the street but I don't. I never use the nitrous on the street.
