Posted this in the laundry list thread (Laundry List) but thought I'd ask about details of this code if anyone happens to know what it really means.

My OD off light was flashing when I would get on the freeway so I took it to the dealer and they got a trans diag code of P1744. They called hotline and was told to reset, test drive and check again. They did and got all clear so they didn't do anything. :bang:

I'm curious if anyone has info on what code P1744 means???

Thanks in advance.

No problem, wish I could tell you more but this is all I have. Hopefully a Ford tech may jump in and tell us what this means.

Hmm, wonder if I have a bad/going bad torque converter. I'm not to up to date on newer cars systems, does the converter solinoid/valve have something to do with the converter clutch system?

Well thats a great place to start at least, I'll have to bookmark that page for future reference. Thats exactly what I was needing for starters.

I would say check the fluid level, but we all know thats not possible, if its low, the conv clutch could be slipping. But regardless, just run it over to the dealer.

I imagine it does, but not being a tech on the newer electronic transmissions I cant say for sure. Being that it references stuck though I would definitely say its an issue with a solinoid or switch in the valve body. Hope someone that knows for sure will chime in.
