So, it's a direct OEM replacement... that explains how it could fit aftermarket intakes...

But... I just don't see what it actually does? Can anyone enlighten me on just how this thing works? Or, is this another Turbonator?

This sounds to me like it would be more beneficial to those with higher-end upgrades, such as engine work or a super/turbo-charger.

I could be wrong, though...

It's larger than stock, therefore it flows more air.

Looks interesting, I think I will give them a call.

EDIT:

I just left them a message to call me. So we will see. Here is the full description:

Ok, heres the details:

Spoke with Chris at Blowby racing, pretty cool guy. He said the TB is expesnive and will be in the neighborhood of $400. He said the company that makes it is claiming 11HP gains, but he did tell me this. He said Blowby will do a another dyno session with a custom car once the first units arrive and let me know what the real gain is. He said the first shipment will arrive the 27/28th of this month, and a dyno session will follow within the same week.

This ones definitely got my interest.

With an aftermarket CAI, I am thinking 5-7 HP maybe.

Don't be so sure scott, with a 1999-2004 v6, you may get 5rwhp for that $400 but with our cars, we see A LOT more horsepower out of the intake-type modifications. For example, with a 1999-2004 v6, you're lucky to pull 3-4rwhp with a CAI and tune, but with our cars you'll easily get 10rwhp. With the other v6's, you'll see maybe 5rwhp from a TB, but who knows, with this TB for our cars you could get another 10rwhp. I can't wait to see what the dyno tests will yield.

Rygen... thanks for looking into this! This really could be interesting... and perhaps safer than a pulley if you're looking for a bit more power but have already done the basic intake/tune/exhaust mods.

Im looking to squeeze every HP i can out of boltons. If $400 will yield me 5hp, then so be it.

I just got this email reply for Chris at BBR. It really just mirrors what he told Rygen over the phone.

[Hamid,
We should have these in about a week, pricing is the same as the
GT 399.99- you should see abou 10-12 rwhp & no reflash need. We will
have more info when we get it in stock. There has only been so much
test done as of now; we will do more testing apon the arrival of the new
TB.
If you have any further question please let us know.

Thank You

Chris Jones
