Yeah, I'm sure you could easily do that. The new filter was one of the main reasons I went for this CAI instead of the K&N one or some other brand.......

The car does seem to acclerate faster, and sound a little meaner. It's too early to tell about gas mileage yet. I'll let you guys know later on that.....

It's still a little early to tell if my CAI is giving me better gas mileage since I only drive 8 miles one way to work. It does seem to give me better power on the Freeway however.
The heat shield attaches to the bolt that attaches the stock air filter box, and another one that is underneath the Anti-skid brake wire harness. It comes with instructions with pictures, so it's pretty easy to follow.......
