Hi Guys,

This is my first post on the forum although I have been reading this forum as a non-member for the last 6 months.

So, I just picked up a pair of flowmaster american thunder axlebacks from CL in the hope of converting my stock v6 (only have a CAI) to a dual exhaust and I am in dilemma.

I want to put in a catless x pipe to go with the axlebacks but cannot find one online for a stock v6. Any links would be appreciated.
or
If there is any other way to go dual, maybe with the stock GT H pipe.

Just letting you know. I have heard a lot of ppl disappointed when they stuck off road x pipes with flowmasters on their v6. They say its too raspy.

 

well as of now I am stuck cause I cannot find an x pipe which bolts on to stock headers or h pipes for that matter as well (both catless) and below 250 bucks..

 

Go to a muffler shop and have them weld on to your current pipe and build you one. It wont cost that much

 

but i read that welding onto the current y pipe and going dual wont be as good as going catless with the x pipe or the h pipe ...

 

Your rolling minimal gains buddy. And your gonna want your cats. For sound and emissions purposes.

 

so i also need to look for cat for one side as well ...right?

You have a cat on each bank before your pipes go into a "Y"

What is your budget

 

If you are set on loosing the cats, get an h-pipe, deeper tone not as raspy as the X but it will still be somewhat raspy being it is still a V6.

 

I already got the axlebacks and can spend 250 bucks on the catless x or h pipe (if there are any available for that price).

 

Get a quote from a muffler shop. Bet they can do the whole thing for under that.
