I recently got the SCT XCalibrator with Premium fuel program.
I also bought an Escort G-Timer to try & track performance changes to my car. (and a new Radar detector)
(I know the G-Timer is not as accurate as the timer at the drag strip, but I think making runs on the same road under the same conditions should let me know if modifications are doing any good. It is better than nothing.)

My car: 2005 V-6, automatic, completely stock

Factory Tune: 15.77 @ 85, 15.72 @ 85, 15.2 @ 90.6 (little tire spin on first 2 runs)
best 0-60 was 6.88
60' was 2.27,2.32

Premium Tune: 15.08 @90.4, 15.13 @ 90.5, 15.0 @ 90.3, 15.08 @ 89.7, 14.9 @ 91.6 B)
0-60: 6.6,6.53,6.6,6.42
60': 2.27, 2.17, 2.2, 2.2

The tires wanted to spin a little on launch, especially with the Premium Tune. The 2 best runs were launching around 1500 & feathering into the gas so no tire spin.

I don't know how accurate the times & speeds are, but they show a definite improvement with the Premium Fuel Program.
All runs were made within an hour of each other on the same road.
I'll check again as soon as I get other mods.

Combine that with some better tires with more grip so you don't have to worry so much about the tires spinning and you'll have even better times. This gets me very excited about the performance prospects of my car. CAI, exhaust, UDP, SCT tune, and some better tires....these mods should net mid to low 14's easily.

Yes, with better tires, and posi (or tlok) rear end in itself will help out a lot. Just so you know, the gtech is pretty accurate, a lot of magazines even test with it because of its proven ability. Im looking forward to tuning my 5 speed v6, and putting a tloker in.

Well i have the SCT prem tune, custom CAI, & a flowmaster 50 series and I have beaten a couple of 2002+ GT's on the street already. I have an auburn posi sitting at my friends shop waiting for the guy i bought it from to send me some 3.73's that are good as the set that came on it were not. So in a bout another week i'll be posified with 3.73's.

Actually i had the setup in for a couple days still it started whinning real bad. 3.73's made almost no difference. I think it was like 250rpms at 70. So when the replacements get here they are going in but 4.10's atleast are in the future.

Hey what UP are you using? Is it the steeda one I was told it wouldn't work.

Hey guys...I'm new to this tuning stuff...but I'm looking at modding my V6. However, I don't understand what any of those things mean. I'm assuming the 4.10's and the 3.73's are gear ratios, but I don't understand what they would do for the V6. Also, what sort of place would be able to put these things into the car? I can't do it myself since I don't have the knowhow, so what sorts of places can you go to have it done???

3.73's didn't make a big enough difference to me and hate to spend all that money and not be happy with the outcome!!!!!I got lucky old gears were bad and upgarded to 4.10's for only $20 more. I can be happy with that! Hey gizz you need to find a mustang performance shop or any performance shop gears and a posi will run $600 installed new with no warrenty. The lower gear ratio requires the engine to turn faster uping your rpms and making the wheels spin faster and going from stock to 4.10's w/ posi on these should knock a 1/2(maybe more) sec off your 1/4 and 0-60.

I was dead set on 3.73's since i had them in my 95 GT but it had 2.73's i jumped a whole 1.0 and WOW well the stock gears in the 4.0 is 3.31 really 4.10's are the only way to go same money about a 500 rpm increase at 70. Thats an assumtion right now will know hopefully next weekend.

Sounds great! Let us know your results. 500 rpm increase I could live with that. This car loafs along at a leisurely 1800 at 60, my previous car was a Toyota MR2 and it was buzzing frantically at 3000 rpm at 60, and 4000 at 80.

Wow those tires are hard to not spin.

15.15 at 95.1mph with a 0-60 of 6.71.
best 0-60 was 6.50, didnt do the whole quarter on that one.

Car is completely stock v6 5 speed manual.

wonder how much better i could do with just a CAI and tune.
