hey guys im new to this board and new to driving in general. im interested in putting a new muffler on my mustang. Ive been hearing great things about the coffin muffler and alsot he magnaflow. Any opinions or suggestions on which muffler to go with? thanks!

If you can swing it I would get the new JBA true dual exhaust:

It's $629. I've got a Magnaflow muffler but I wish I had waited now. I may get the JBA exhaust anyway and sell my Magnaflow.

thanks for the input. ill look into both but i wanna make sure i get a nice deep sounding one. i dont want anything that sounds ricey, just a good, deep, throaty growl.

Personally I'd say go with the Ford Racing exhaust. It's manufactured for Ford Racing by Borla and has the sweetest growl...

i checked ford racing's website but they didnt have that muffler to buy. know any site where i could check it out or even buy it?

I just went for the muffler delete option, made available by a Sawsall. That produces a nice deep growl. I have a tailpipe out to the bumper cover so it looks stock. Never been stopped.

I got mine from my local Ford Dealer for just under $200. At one point I've also seen them sold on eBay.

A single GT take-off muffler is a nice, inexpensive option. It has a great, throaty tone plus a hint of performance gain. Though, I'm switching to JBA duals very soon as soon as my GT bumper is put on. I'll have sound clips sometime next week.

I havent done anything, but I still don't know which route to take. I guess I'm going to go with a GT takeoff, then save for a complete setup untill I made my mind up.

Flowmaster, they sound hot and you can install them so they look factory.

Classic 40 2.5 inch offset offset.





My original plan is to put Super 40 3" on it, but so far I love the sound and performance from the Classic 40.

Yesss, finally more people moving to the Flowmaster side! You will NOT be disappointed in the sound these mufflers give! I promise!
