FYI, the 9psi kit I ordered should have came with a fuel pump. I'm waiting to see what happens on Monday.

I was told the only difference between the 9 and 11psi kits was the pulley. If you ordered the 9, and wanted to upgrade, you would only need to purchase the pulley.

Yes but the 11psi kit requires a fuel pump.. If you install the secondary fuel pump with the 9psi kit, thats a very smart thing to do.. This way, like you say, a smaller pulley swap will be accepted if over 10psi of boost..

I surely hope you do get the secondary fuel pump FlapJack.. I am advising Screaminyellin6 to have the secondary 255lph fuel pump installed when he gets his kit put on..

I'll be ording my 255lph secondary pump next week..

You're right. I'll be fighting for it, as I also have an e-mail from the guy I placed the order with saying it included a pump.

Since I'm at a higher altitude (Colorado Springs), I really think I'll at least try the 11psi pulley once I get the initial 9psi installation set up correctly. I'll probably check how much pinging I get with 87 octane fuel. If I don't get any, I should be good at 11psi with 91 octane.

Didn't you say earlier the stock pump was 310lph? If so, 255lph would be less, right?

Speaking of avatars... I finally put one up. The picture is from the day I got the car last February. My son was absolutely thrilled to see it. I had to keep him from climbing all over it!

The 255Lph fuel pump is considered a seconday pump.. Please look at my other post in this thread recently, and view the secondary fuel pump isntallation in the Vortech install manual for the 2005 Mustang GT.. Look at the parts list also, for the items used in the kit..

So to sum it up, the 255lph pump is used to bolster the pressure across the fuel rails of the 310Lph pump or the stock factory pump, once above 10psi of boost from the Supercharger..

Take some time to get caught up Flapjack, that way we are on the same page!

Actually I think I am going to just jump to 14psi Pulleys and see what happens - LOL.

No honestly, My route is going to be keeping the 10 pulley and custom tuning with SCT and leaning out a little. Then looking at Snow injectors and doing some more data logging. From there I'll see where the numbers fall and start getting the itch for the a 12 pulley - I'm sure...

Maybe , just maybe , I may be leaning towards the second fuel pump @ s/c install time, but then again , I may just hold off until the injectors go in.... Dam decisions!!! I really need a sponsor - any takers??

MSP - I acknowledge that I am doing this of my own free mind and will I'm going to see how much we can get out of the 10's before going 12's, but you never know... Time will tell.... and thanks for being a constant source of information and brainstorming to all of us on the forum

any kills lately??

Much better plan. No need to mess with anything else in the engine. A V8 swap on a new car can be pretty exhausting...

heck, I swapped the I-6 in my 1975 280Z for a Chevy 350 from a 1968 Chevelle. That was bad enough...

Thanks Jimp! I actually think its too small! LOL! But we must conform to set guidlines!

@Screaminyellin6

I'll be totally honest! I actually adore the way the car is now.. To say its absolutley perfect would be an understatement! I think the kit, and the tune is just awsome.. I really wouldnt mind leaving it at this point, seriously.. I just have to get it to 400FWHP and I'm done for quite awhile.. We all know 400FWHP is not a whole heck of alot these days.. However, this is enough for us to accomplish our mission Screaminyellin6..

I also wanted to say to you that as it sits right now, I seriously believe that an SCT tune on my car now, could most likley get me to 400FWHP with the 10psi pulley..

This is what I am debating..

1. Do I cut the 10psi pulley short of its true greatness? Which is getting the most out of it with an SCT tune..

2. Do I allow myself and the stock Vortech kit to truley know whats being hidden in the way of the stock Diablo tune?

3. Should I stick to my guns, and instead of continuing with the 12psi pulley upgrade just opt for the SCT plan and get BamaChips invovled in this...

This is what I am thinking.. With Doug904's extensive knowledge about these engines he is the perfect person from which I buy my SCT from, as well as a Vortech V6 tune, he should know exactly how to do..
Looking at the numbers, I think the completion of the 12psi pulley upgrade, and getting an SCT and pushing the 10psi pulley to 400FWHP will be close...

Today I thought long and hard about this while at work.. I truley desire to get the SCT, and give BAMAChips a shot.. I seriously trust in Doug's ability to get me to 400FWHP using the SCT.. He did a great job on the SourceHorse..

My question is, can Doug904 based on his knowledge of the 05V6 engine, program a tune for me without having the car on a dyno? If he can, then this is the path I am going to take.. I'll put the 12psi pulley in the box, and save it for later.. Already understanding the full scope of the 12psi pulley upgrade, it will be just as easy to complete later, if not much easier because I will have the SCT programmer, and Doug904 working with me in the background..

Personally, I dont see a reason why he wouldnt be able to write me a tune, without being on the dyno.. I guess it is possible its hard to do.. Hopefully Doug904 can chime in on this to help me debate this..

What I'm also going to do is see if there are any shops in my area which can write me a 400FWHP Diablo tune, or get real close safely..

I'm so confused its ridiculous.. All I know is I must get to 400FWHP.. Thats the bottom line, end of story.. One way or another, I'll be at 400FWHP within 2 weeks, no if and or buts about it.. 400FWHP is haunting me like a bad dream.. I wont rest until this goal is met.. Somehow some way, I'll get there.. If the 10psi pulley cant get there then the 12psi pulley will..

@MSP,

So it looks like you have a solid plan in place for generating power in a systematic fashion, and you got an LSD, your gear ratio is all setup, so now for my question?

When you do a hard launch now, does the car hook well? Have you considered LCA's? If so, you gonna run stock first on the 1/4 now and then try LCA's later? Been a while since you commented on DR's as well.

All this talk of HP is fun, but like I say to my import buddies, can you put it to the ground. Which is where us Stang owners are quite proud.

So, lets get back on track!

Try and keep the conversation strictly about the Supercharger installation and any questions, comments, etc. I spent a lot of time cleaning up this topic because there is quite a bit of information here for someone who wants to modify a V6. I would ask everyone to act like grown adults and be courteous without being smug.

If the moderators see any of the following posts we will edit/delete them as we see fit:

-V6 or V8 Bashing (its totally unneccessary)
-Any type of bench racing (It obviously escalated before)
-Rude or insulting comments
-Any non-factual imaginary performance numbers

Otherwise, when in doubt, refer to the forum rules, do not do what you think Chuck Norris would do, because you are not Chuck Norris
