Maplight stays on

How do I go about to turn off my maplights. I have tried pressing the button, but they remain on. I close and lock the doors and still remian on.
They are on right now, so imediate help needed

I'm curious now....was it the switch beside the headlight switch that was in the on position? I had that happen to me. My knee turned it to the on position.

You nailed it! It's been a while since i've been in a Ford, my Ranger I had was the same.

It's funny because I called my dealership and they didn't know, they said it needed to come in for service.
