Bought the Magnaflow dual exhaust for my V6. We just made a cut out for the tip, until we can find a GT rear bumper. It rocks!!! It sounds and looks great. It's deep and growly, exactly the way I wanted it to sound. Cruising in 5th at highway speeds the sound is about the same as the factory muffler. But going through all the gears it sounds HAWT!!!

The single cat-back was like $289.... a little more pricey but it's 100% stainless and a 3.5 inch tip.... JBA was an aluminzed steel and the MAC was stainless but a 4 inch tip!

Just got my dual Magnaflows put on yesterday. Guy charged me a little elss than normal ($400) because he really wanted to work on one of the '05s. Plus, he pretty much walked me through the whole process. The sound is just a tiny bit too buzzy for me right now, but he said the sound would deepen a bit as the mufflers get broken in. All in all though I'm very happy with the work. I just have to sand the cut down a little bit, but he made a fairly accurate cut considering he was freehanding (I couldn't watch that part).

I'll try to get some pictures when I take my car through a wash today.

My muffler guy (Randy's in Marysville, WA) tells me that he has experimented with V6 exhausts, and that a crossover is a requirement to keep it from being poppy. When my 2006 arrives, he is going to install dual Magnaflows with 2.25" pipes and a crossover, also for about $400 bucks. He is very good at what he does. Does your system have the crossover?

Yeah he put an H-pipe in. It popped for about 30 seconds when I started it up for the first time, but it's been smooth since then.

I tellya, it's hard to watch a mechanic sometimes. I've never done any work on a previous vehicle, so I had never seen someone take a saw to the underside of my car and come away with my muffler, then later come out with a 3 foot length of pipe. I knew it was neccessary for the job, but I was still uncomfortable the whole time.

I sometimes look at Muffler work as more of an "Art". I just try to find a good one and then I let the master do his job!
Looks like the computer may take a moment to adjust to the slightly reduced backpressure, and hence the popping for 30 seconds.

Wow Janet..............I'm impressed with your duals! Keep up the great work.....Nice Ride!

BTW.....I think the "X-Pipe" will help deepin the sound more on the V6 with duals. Right Guy's??

Nope. H-pipe is considered the classic muscle car sound.

X pipe H pipe there's gotta be somebody who knows the bottom line. I have the GT take offs coming be installed and I still don't know what size pipe to use ,or to go with the x or h pipe and I've read other exhaust posts until I was blue in the face.

The X-Pipe and the H-Pipe may perform different on the 4.0-Liter V6 cars. I am like most folks on this site....What I DO NOT Want is to put on the duals and sound more like a 4-cylinder ricer!! :nono:

I hope somebody with skills can answer this question. What about GT-500 (Brent)? Where is he now??
