Just wondering, if it is possible to have LOUDMOUTHS on a 2005 Mustang V6? Would it sound good or more like a Ricer....? :scratch: Or is there any other dual exuast out there that sounds like LOUDMOUTHS on our v6's....???

 

Heres, my experience. When I was having my exhaust done, we ran the dual pipes straight back (true duals) and I fired the car up before we ever touched the mufflers. It sounded AWFUL. It popped HORRIBLY and sounded .. just BAD. There is simply not enough backpressure to do this. Loudmouths arent really a muffler. They dont muffle anything. Going duals with these, and I think this would be true even if you y-piped them (with an X/H-pipe), would just be a bad idea. If you wanted to go with a single exhaust it might sound great. I actually bet it would. I just dont see it happening with duals though. If you're looking at SLP Loudmouths and want to save some money go to a muffler shop and have them run the pipe all the way back to the rear bumper, and put tips on it. Its basically the same thing. As far as I know there is nothing else on the market like these for our cars right now. It definitly would not be ricey, but IMO would probably not be the sound you're looking for.

Any of you guys with a single bolt on, or even the stock muffler, would one of you try this? It would be simple to unclamp the muffler and fire the car up like that.

Im really hoping that with long tubes and gutted cats there is going to be enough pressure for me to remove my resonators. Theres a chance there would then be enough for straight pipes. Only time and testing is going to tell though.

 

I have a loudmouth in my Mustang whenever I have my Mother-In-Law in the car....And I doesn't sound good at all !!!

So, ur saying that if run just a single exuast would be good enough for the V6 because of back pressure issue. rite? And also I saw this post about the COFFIN muffler:

This single bolt on muffler sounds really nice and LOUD!!! Has anyone used them before? Are they any good? Or is there substitute for them which kinda sounds similar to COFFIN...because I don't think they sell them anymore!!!

They are definitly still selling the coffin mufflers.. they were just put into production maybe a month ago. I cant see why they would stop so soon after the amazing reaction they recieved here and elsewhere. There are a few people that frequent these boards that have them installed. Im pretty sure they swear by them now. Run a search for "coffin" and see what you can turn up, I know its in here somewhere.

I think a single loudmouth-type exhaust would sound great, but I still have qualms about running duals. Maybe you can try the trick I did and use resonators? Its going to not be AS loud, but it increases the backpressure a good bit. I just really cant say whats going to work and what wont -I havent heard of anyone trying it and I havent done it myself. Thast why I asked before if someone would unclamp their stock muffler and see how it sounds. Maybe you should try it? Someone with more experience than I have might can tell you better.

From that site, just start listening to sound clips and seeing what you like. There are a number posted on this site as well as on the manufacturers site. None of them will sound like loudmouths. No where close.
