The Niagra certianly is interesting... 8 cores on a single piece of silicon, each core running 4 threads... so 32 threads per socket... for certain workloads (non floating point) this machine should crank... at least on paper! LOL! I guess we'll find out in the next couple of months... Sun will be releasing some "demo" boxes next month...

Got 'cha both beat. You can't be an official geek without a Geek Mobile (hiding behind the cool car)

Funny same story here... My dad was a mill mechanic and I ended up a computer geek as well I work on servers, networks, and workstations during the week and then my stang during my free time...

Now I had to compromise with my wife too. They don;t seem as eager or understanding when it comes to modding your car. It seems like I have to double the price of every mod I make, because then she wants the same to spend on her stuff And that's for the stuff I know about !

Last mod cost me custom window treatments for the Den and Living Room - But its worth it

BTW rygenstormlocke - try a mink coat, that's what its costing me in the spring for the s/c

LOL! She wants the house painted in the spring, new patio and wants more diamonds. Doh!

Well, on its face I would say Scrming is the king, because not many of us use a SAN Server on a dailey basis, under Solaris.. I'm quite sure PK sees alot, but Scrming's network is absolutley much more complex than the average...

Maybe we can get CompUSA or Newegg to be an official Mustang sponsor... lol

I'm a systems engineer in Corporate at the 3rd largest health sysytem in the country. Over 1000 servers in 300 buildings and 280 different departmental applications running 24x7 with over 35,000 users. My best part of the day is the 20+ miles I get to drive home in my yellow pony

It's funny but it does seem like the vast majority of mustang owners are really IS guys. Maybe that's why it seems like we are always online.... because we are sitting next to atleast 3 workstations at all times

Man, he has a beat in cars and in networks, darn 100TB!. I can only imagine what that is like. My primary datacenter has 13TB, with a Storatek L180 to back it up. My 4 other data centers are on smaller CX300 series SAN’s, with data from 26 nodes replicated to the SAN's, then SAN to SAN replication. We have just started testing/deploying the new DL385 dual Opertons. For floating point performance, they are quite impressive with some of our heavy duty SQL routines. I used to manage a HP-UX shop, but the past 7 years I have been running Windows shops. I would love to have an environment like Scrmings!

Wow, quite impressive. Yea, they did a poll of 05 mustang owners and most of them were in IT. Way cool!

Sounds like a great setup you got going. I just looked up the shop, they are 10 minutes from where I live and I never knew they existed. Do you live near them as well? Its nice to see more local 05's on here.

Thanks. I live in Huntington and it's only about a 20 minute or so ride out there.

Yeah it is nice to see some local 05's here too. Wish I was somewhere in Michigan - seems like thats the place to be for all the fun. Wish they had some clubs around here. Most of the clubs are V8's and not all of them are that open to a 6 coming in .... but soon they will have to step up and acknowledge that there are some big steps being taken by 6'ers and we can definitly keep up and surpass some 8's already :worship:

Dittoes here. I maintain production/operations for a fortune 500 VoIP/Dial access /Fiber Transport / IP communications company. AS1 (if you know what that means or have had occasion to use iana.net and likely ALSO fit the mold of the typical 05 Mustang driver) is our "Autonomous System" number -- Chances are the typical 05 Mustang owner probably find things on www.rfc-editor.org worth reading :-) I'm going over RFC2833 right now as it pertains to my job....

There are stories to be told, but the mods would prolly not appreciate going that far off-topic

Lets put it like this... When I used to do alot of home networks, I hit the jackpot on a 45 year old lady.. I am 35 now, this was about 5 years ago.. I hard wired the network... It kept breaking down, and everytime I went to fix it, I laid down some more hardwire.. So I can just imagine what kind of stories you have to tell..

Women above 40+ are truley where its at man... They just know what to say, and how to do things the right way... No is not apart of their vocabulary!

But back on topic... Thats great the TLOK is working out!! Gotta get mine installed! Oops, I mean the true-trac!

I'm afraid to ask!!!! IT is full of stories, but I am not sure if the mods will be too appreciative.

Though this one sounds quite promising MSP!
