Found this tonight...

2005 V-6 High flow intake kit w/MMR high flow tube
This is the bad boy intake kit for your 05' V-6!! This is a complete kit that inludes the MMR high flow MAF, Washable 100,000 mile air filter and MMR high flow inlet tube kit. Gains up to 18 RWHP!! Easy bolt on, increased fuel mileage, does not void factory warranty.

"MMR has dyno tested and proven its kits to bring you a great bolt on for your 05' that requires no custom tuning to get the claimed gains. "

Guess it doesnt need a re-flash.

It's only $199. Is that pricy? For some reason I thought a CAI usually ran around $250.

I was talking about the one with the pipe for $349........

I like the looks of it, and if it saved gas, it might be cool, but that's some cash....

Maybe when it comes down in price?

Yes, it will require a tune regardless of what they tell you, also looks to be a "HOT" air intake more than a cold air intake. Has no sheilding to keep out the hot engine bay heat. And yes it can void your warranty if it causes any problems with your engine, for example if you put it on and don't do a reflash or tune, it will make your engine run lean. Be careful of what aftermarket manufacturers tell you just to sell their product. Do your homework, and ask expert advice from those who have done actual testing of these products and can back them up...........good luck!!

I have it and its great. I might be taking it for a dyno tune this friday.
I talked to the guys at MMR, about the heat shielding, and they said that when they did the testing with and without the extra heat shield, they did not see any HP difference.
Unless you are having a cold air directly streeming at the intake you wouldnt see difference by using the heat shield.

did it require a tune, and was there any noticable difference after installing it?

No I've been driving it for a week without a tuneup, and it runs great. You can notice it more in lower gears or higher RPMS when you slam on the gas If you open the hood, you can hear how its svckin air in.

I personaly think it will run even better with a tune up. I dont know I'll stop by tomorrow for lunch by the service garage and see if I can get some sugestions from them.

Have you noticed any increase in gas mileage? Do you think you're getting an extra 18 HP like they claim?

Looks like it might be a pretty easy and cool mod for a V6.....

Yeah it took me no more than four min. to install it. I dont know about gas milage it seems the same, but then I drive like nut :drive:

I'll try and meassure, I'll also ask for some dyno printouts when I do my tune up.

OK, thanks! If it gave you an extra 10% better mileage, then it would pay for itself.......

I think I'll have to wait untill the price comes down on it untill I get one, but I do like it!
