Has any V6 owner of 2005 - 2006 traded up to get the GT? I love my 05 V6, but I'm thinking of a trade to the GT. I'm just looking for advice really. What are your opinions? Is there really a difference between the two cars besides the power? Is it worth it?

Thanks,

o5blackV6

Take one for a test drive...
The horsepower is more, the sound is more...
The thrust is more

its a great fun car to drive.

I went from a 3.8 to 4.6 .... 193 --> 300
So the 210 --> 300 is still a nice large jump.

Are you willing to take the hit on cost though....

Yes, I traded my 05 V6 in September for a GT. I ordered both cars and have absolutely no regrets. Dealership gave me 19,000 for my V6 trade that I had for 11 months. It was the perfect time for me to do it without losing a pile of money.

$$$$$ & Insurance. Save Big. Keep the V-6, add CAI w/tune, JBA Exhaust, and get that 210 to the rear wheels. Then buy more Mods. Fun never ends......

I could have had either. Bought the six because handling is more important to me than pure acceleration, and the six has more potential there.

Question,

Justed popped into mind. How much you think it would cost to put a manual in my V6?

your 6-cylinder convert has more handling potential than a GT?

Prohibitive at best...I would actually say impossible. Sorry for the bad news.

I test drove both cars, and though there is a difference, I wouldn't take a couple thousand dollar hit just to drive a GT instead of my 6

My firend, for the amount you would lose on a trade, you could add a $3500 Supercharger, which is 300RWHP.. Upgrade the rear-end to posi, paint the car any color of your choice, and take the wife to a nice dinner.. You might also be able to get her that boob job shes always wanted.. LOL!! I hope this helps you decide what to do..

The boob job may not be possible.. However, you could take her to dinner..

Just what we need, more restlessness in the ranks about the V6.. I admit, there are alot of really kool GT guys here.. But I wouldnt eat 6 or $7k to be able to have a conversation with one of them online... LOL!! This is so out of hand its ridiculous.!!

So I guess that is sort of along the same lines as guys with GT's putting superchargers in their cars instead of spending the cash on a Saleen.
To have it all done right though, you would pay more to get your V6 up to the same performance level as a GT, and then all a GT guy has to do is spend a grand and say buh-bye.

It is a never ending battle. Just do what makes you happy.

I look at it like this 05blackV6..

As a V6 owner, I am a less desirable member.. I must be carefull how I respond to GT owners at all times, because as a V6 owner I am always one good argument away from being banned.. My membership always hangs in the balance, because I am not a GT owner.. If I were to get into a debate with a GT owner, and he called me a name, I would have to accept this if I value my mebership at this website or any other for that matter..

So I am a V6 owner.. Am I a less desireable online personality for it? Probably.. Would me being gone impact the community, definately not.. As a V6 owner, you have to understand your position is society.. 2nd class.. Do not argue from a standpoint of being proud to own a V6.. This is shunned.. Do not feel justified in your purchase because insurance is cheaper, and with a few mods, your are able to keep up and beat a stock GT..

For these reasons, I must agree with Adrenalin.. I like this website, and value my membership.. Do most guys dislike me here because I show pride in the V6, absolutley.. Will I trade in my V6 and eat 6 or 7K so that I can fit in better with most of the most liked members? No, of course not.. I will just watch what I say at all times, and respect the opinions of GT owners..

I am now agreeing with Adrenaline here.. So yes, trade in your V6.. Its garbage.. It should have never been made.. You made a mistake buying it.. You will be more respected as a GT owner.. How many of us like to have our views and opinions respected? All of us.. So I say we should all start to conform to the standards of a GT.. Show no pride in owning a V6 Mustang.. You are not respected for your views, because you own a V6.. LOL!!!

I'll keep my V6, and be disliked and disrespected for my views.. No thanks.. I like money!

I think he needs his own forum.

To address the original topic: Test drive it. if you can afford it without being completely taken advantage of, I bet you'll want to do it..
