GT take off muffler question
#21
Not yet, but I do plan on installing some. I was waiting for the '06 Pony Package parts to be available and was going to install that, but now that better pictures are out of it I'm really not liking the giant honeycomb grille. I think I'll do the GT grille conversion instead. I'm not trying to make it look like a GT or anything, but I do like the looks of the driving lights in the grille. The V6 grille looks plain to me.

Well we had our exhaust work done last Friday and we're not happy at all :bang:
Even after the wrench stated he'd merge into the Y pipe, turns out, he cut the Y pipe off and we're now running true duals and it's horrrible. Backpressue is non-existent and the whole system sounds like crap
I'm off to CJ Pony Parts to get an estimate for the X pipe and their labor to correct the exhaust system...

Sorry to hear that! One thing that is probably a contributing factor is since you already had one GT muffler on there it is seasoned, but the other isn't. Mine sounded strange after the 2nd was installed even with a crossover. But it mellowed out after the 2nd one broke in.
==Do you need to reset the computer if your just swapping out the V6 with the GT muffler? ==
No, just swap and go!

I put the GT mufflers on mine, but since I was doing it for looks only (and it doesn't seem that true duals do much if anything for performance), I didn't bother to even connect the left side to anything. You can't tell by looking at it, and you'd have to listen really closely to tell by sound.

Maybe you can get away with that trick in Orlando, up here the jig would be up on the first cool Fall day

LOL! It took me a minute to figure it out, but it finally dawned on me Touche'!
I noticed after adding my duals that the sound is much more "stereo" than it was with the single. I really dig the duals!
