I know the 17 inch factory wheels/tires will fit a V6 BUT will it effect the speedometer? If it does, can the change be corrected?

You will need a programmer to change the speedo unless the tires you put on the 17's end up being the same diameter as the stock tires.

adding to this subject. If you add 17's to a V6, should you also change out the brakes?

If you replace your stock 16"s with stock 17"s from a GT, there will be no effect on the speedometer. The total diameter of the two wheel and tire combinations is almost identical. However, if you change to a lower profile tire from stock, then you will affect the speedo. As for the brakes, I don't think a simple change from 16"s to 17"s will make any difference in braking. I didn't notice any.

I put 255/50/17 tires on my v6, and I think they said it would change to speedometer by .1 mph, haha. I know Discounttiredirect.com has a calculator somewhere on thier website, search previous posts, I know it's on there.

Mmm whenever I upgrade the wheels and tires Im just gonna go ahead and buy the take off breaks.. heck, might as well right?

To answer your question, the GT Take offs wont affect your speedo enough to have to have it recalced.
