Ok, Ive made God-knows how many posts on this and I still havent made up my mind yet as to what Im going to do. I probably wont until Ive actually gone and done something and look back to see what I just did. Here goes:

I currently have my dual set up with flows. Shortly I will be going with a set of headers, probably long tube. As a result, Im going to lose my cats and am a bit worried about the loss of backpressure. My low end power has already suffered because I didnt run a Y-pipe. Ive been scheming and trying to find ways to get around this, mostly because Im afraid of the change in sound.

Idea and Question #1: What would happen if I ran a Pro Chamber instead of a Y-pipe? Wouldnt they have basically the same function? Or would this increase my pressure loss even more? I was hoping to get an increase in sound as well as performance out of this. Its a midpipe, so I dont see how some performance gain wouldnt be associated with it. I just sent MAC an email asking about production of one for the v6 and am awaiting a reply. Advice needed.

Question #2: Would anyone suggest going with shorties instead of long tubes? I believe the difference between the two for this engine will be minimal, but the sound difference drives me towards the long tubes. Shorties are notorious for finding any "left over" power though, and the way Im going I think Ill need all I can get.

Question #3: For those of you actually using Y-pipes, or anyone with knowledge of it, exactly how much of a difference in sound is there between a Y-pipe and a "true dual" set up?

Alright, Ive read it and now have quite a headache hehe. He says he gained low end torque and power from adding in an x-pipe. I havent experienced any of the problems he said though. He was claiming a loss of 60 HP or more? Thats crap. My car pulls like crazy through the higher RPMs. I also have resonators as well, which he never did. That makes another question, would I want to remove these if I went with an X-pipe? Originally I was planning on keeping them for backpressure.

If they have it; going with longtube headers, keeping the cats, going with the prochamber, and keeping your muffles might be a good setup for the V6. No one likes to be a guinea pig though, but I'd be really curious on what that will bring for the V6. If that doesnt work then maybe reducing the diameter from 2.5" to 2" can make something more ideal.
This would be great for companies to test out, and give to us.

The same muffler guy that did my single Magnaflow said that if I did duals with a drivers side muffler, he thinks the 2.5" pipe will make the V6 too loud. He has been in this buisness a long time!! If he is correct, the X-Pipe should help this right?? I have not asked him about how he will set mine up yet. (X, Y, Straight pipe, etc...)

Too loud? I dont know about that, but I think its proving to be too big with less restrictive mods.

You hear that sponsors? Ive got the ideas and the free time, and am ready and willing to be a guinea pig.

Id also like to ditch the cats, and keep the resonators. I think you'd get a better sound that way. 2" piping might be the ticket too.
