@Jimp

Thanks Jimp! Were you able to get back to the track on Wednsday?

@Scrming

Well as you know, an SC unit would put around 300RWHP full time with maybe 8psi... I should be able to raise the boost level with pistons more suited to the environment.. The 4.0's have a high compression ratio, and may not do too well with much more boost..

Where right now, your making insane numbers with NOS, for me to equal those numebers with an SC, I need higher boost levels than 8psi.. The dished pistons would allow for a slight increase above this..
Nope, didn't make it to the track. It was raining anyway. I'm going to try for next Saturday.

scrming said before that Lidio said that lower compression wasn't really necessary. You could fix that problem with a good tune.

Ahh, cool. Thanks for the info! Did he say you needed to change the spark plugs for 125?
:worship:

sorry we didn't talk much about the 125HP... Of course if we do go to the 125HP I will pass along all the info...

I see.. Well, which of the 2 SC's would you guys prefer and why? I like that the Powerdyne does not put stress on the rest of the belt system... Its also $400 bucks cheaper..

What do you guys think?

Yes, the Eaton was my original plan all along.. Shouldnt it be out real soon?

All though, looking at the numbers, the Eaton is not putting out as much power as the other 2.. So you think the Powerdyne is a good unit? Thats really the one I am interested in...

I don't know anything about the powerdyne... I just know that personally I wouldn't go with the procharger...

Lidio is a big fan of the roots type blowers... The Eaton is like a cross between a root and a twin screw... LOL! Although the Eaton may make less power is comes on very early giving you that low end grunt...

I would think the EE would be out sometime in October??? Other option would be to see if Vortech will have an offering...

As for me... I just couldn't get the $3500-$4000 price tag past my wife, the accountant! LOL! But it did make it a lot easier to get the Zex! LOL! Look dear, for less than a $1000 I can get the the Zex, saving you lots of money! LOL!!

LOL!! My wife already knows about my SC plans.. When I bought the car, I orignally went to pickup a GT.. But decided to go for the SC V6 route.. She already understands that this is something that must take place.. It must happen.. No if and or butts about it.. LOL!

Zex is still an equal option in my opinion... I am just trying to follow through with my original plan is all..

Have you guys seen this, and do you plan on getting one once the final product is out next month? The final should be aluminum polished... Or you can paint it..

This is one of the pre-production fiberglass ones the Midwest Auto Gear is auctioning off on e-bay... I had a big All Ford car show last weekend so I didn' t want to wait... I actually had them overnight it so I got it on the day before the big show! (I took 3rd in the 2005 Mustang... up against a lot of nice GTs!!! LOL!)

I paid like $162 plus I get an actual production one when they start shipping those... I plan on having it and my CAI painted this winter to match the car...

Very nice! That should look really nice.. Paint the outer shell and leave the Lines, and the 4.0 polished? Or just leave the whole thing polished?

I had heard good things about the ProCharger. What did Lidio say was so bad about it?

from what Lidio and others..

over stated gains, mediocre parts quality, terrible technical support, the self contained oil system tends to leak... and horror stories about trying to get it replaced under warranty...

Like I said I've heard this from a few other people... (these are only opinions and shuld be treated as such... this is not meant to be facts.... LOL)

Lidio stopped installing prochargers in the mid-90s due to the issues raised above... For centr. blowers he sticks with Vortech...
