Different sound from the 05 to 06?

Is there a difference in the exalst from the 2005's and the 2006's?

I have a 06 V6 with Pony Package. I love the sound of this car. It has a very nice sound for a V6.

A girl I work with has the 2005 V6. I could almost swear that my car has a meatier sound than hers.
We have not been able to get the two cars together to confirm this or blow it out of the water.

Has anyone else thought this as well?

Thanks in advance
Angie

same muffler, but the auto/manuals have a different exhaust note. maybe thats the diff? Along with breaking them in.

That makes no sense. If the mufler's the same, the tranny would make no difference, unless it's because of a different idle setting, or shift points. Anyone got any explination?

OK, I was just confused because in your first post I thought you were saying that the muffler's were the same on all. But, if you're saying that the 05's and 06's use the same muffler's, but the auto and manual tranny's use different mufflers, then that makes sense.

(even though that sentence is confusing )

I have the 06 manual and my friend has the 05 auto.
So if they do use different mufflers depending on the tranny, that might explain it then.
It may not be the year of the car, but the tranny in it.

Cool, I'll be heading down there in a few weeks for my cousin's wedding.

Check out buckeyestangs.com for good local stuff.

BTW... this weather sucks!

Im not sure that this is correct. I know they're not the same muffler. If they were, people wouldnt be seeing improvements in both sound and performance by upgrading to a single GT muffler.
