Clutch recommendation (Spec vs Centerforce vs?)
I have an '08 stang with the 4.0V6. I have about 27k miles on it and need a clutch.
It's a daily driver but I do run it through the gears here and there in traffic. I'm surprised the clutch needs to be replaced already and am looking for something more robust.
That said, it's a daily driver and still want it to be comfortable to drive. I was thinking of a Spec or Centerforce stg 1 clutch.
Questions:
1) Am I on the right track in terms of performance vs comfort with the two choices?
2) Which should I go with ?
3) Any other kits I should be looking at ?

Ditto that. I've had a Centerforce DF installed for more than a year on my X-Charged 4.0, working great, plenty of holding power, stock-like pedal pressure. Very happy with it.

This might be more useful advice if not for the fact that Exedy doesn't make a performance clutch for the Mustang 4.0, just an OEM replacement, and McLeod doesn't offer one at all...

I was also going to recommend Exedy but was wondering about the application question. Sorta figured that was going to be the answer.
I had a friend that had a Spec 3, and I drove it with ~5000 miles on it. It was a grabby SOB and I hated it, which convinced me to go with the Exedy Mach 500. I drove it again some 7000 miles later and it was very nice. Take that for what it's worth.
