cam covers has anybody......

Has anyone painted or powder coated the cam covers on the V6? are they metal or plastic? and how complicated are they to take off?
thanks in advance.

I have seen them painted. They are plastic. Not terribly difficult to remove, but lots of other brackets etc you have to get out of the way. They have a rubber gasket that you can re use if you clean it well. The type of plastic they are made with retains oils and grime though, so you can get paint lifting if you try to paint used ones. I am not aware of anyone powder coating them.

The GT covers are magnesium I believe, and the V6 covers are a composite material.

They are plastic. You can powder coat different kinds of materials, not just metal, you have to call and ask the shops capabalities
