forget it all then, too much money, and the tuners and stuff would probably just screw something up anyway.

Hey! don't give up, I have a tuner and never had any problems! There must be 600 guys on these forums at least who have tuners and no problems! 600 is a lot of cash, but you won't believe the difference it makes in your car! The only issue I have is I can't stop! 13.9x this year! April 7th first try! The S&B will work with a stock tune, it does lean out the car. I used a S&B intake and the superchips max micro tuner for a while with great results. I will sell the Microtuner for cheap if your interested iceman320.

I wouldn't give up either. I'd save up until you can swing the money for the Tuner/Intake combo all at once. This will be a great difference in horsepower. We've seen 25-32RWHP with the right tune combination. It's really not complicated like it seems. The hand tuners plug in, reprogram the PCM, and that's it. No problems, no complications.

OK, someone that lives in Wayne's area and has a JLT/Tune or C&L/Tune combo give that man a test ride. Guarantee his attitude changes once he experiences the difference.

Iceman more advice

I have a 05 sonic blue,I don't represent or work for any parts or performance shops. I have the C&L CAI with the sct xcal tuner, I have had alot of performance cars in my life ( 68 stang 302 built, 64 nova 350 400hp,69 cyclone GT 390cu, and a 55 chevy truck 350 tunnel ram) for the monet I don't think I have had any one add on that I'm more pleased with!
the performance is awesome, the mileage increase ( drove to Myrtle beach mustang week last year with air on 29.6 mpg) that's better than factory, I powder coat so with the C&L being aluminum I powder coated, It looks great I'll shoot some pics and post. strictly by experience only I highly recommend this combo, A friend has a black V6 took him for a ride
lets just say he's saving for a C&L and even wife agreed when I took her for a spin ( in the car), everything that I've read about tuners especially when it comes to additional upgrades in the future ( duals, headers s chargers....etc) the sct xcal is more versatile and recommended by the pros, Diablo predator I've read aren't, look at most articles about performance upgrades they almost every time prefer the sct over the predator. The bottom line is it's your money and you buy what you want, you earned it, so do you research......Watch ebay there is generally good deals on combos. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PROJECT
C&L CAI with SCT xCAL,jba headers, jbawires, plenum cover, roush strut brace, roush scoop,12" stripes, magna flow duals, bullitt wheels, c drilled powerstop rotors, ceramic pads,Gt brakes on front, carbon fiber int, xenon front & GT rear bumper, GT grill with GT switch ( believe it or not for some reason my car had a GT switch installed at the factory, my gain)Eibach prokit, under hood dressup goodies to come, cdc hood lift.

What is everyone's take on the Airraid CAI. I have that with a Bamachip tune, TBS, MSD wires and True Duals. After the adding the tune the car ran like a bat out of hell. I was laughing for the first half hour after installing the tune.

Tune without CAI

Is it a big difference between V6 auto with bama tune and V6 auto with CAI-tune combo...
Do you have dyno results from these both packs?
Do your have 1/4 mile time or 0-60 times?

I don't have any numbers yet. Our club has a dyno day scheduled for 4/14 so I'll know then. We also have test & tune nights at Gateway Intl. so I'll do that as well.

I bought a powder coating kit from EASTWOOD CO. and I use an electric stove that I bought used and do it in my garage, DONT DO it in any oven that you plan to cook food in, I guess the residue can transfer to the food. I've had the kit for a few years. I bought it to powder coat the whole front suspension on my 64 chevyII nova.

Thats crazy, but smart if you know what you are doing and obviously you do. I would stick yo a body shop otherwise.

Do you plug it in to dry the paint?

powder coating is just what its called

Powder coating is really easy, you probably won't get it done at a body shop. You have to find some one that does it. You have a powder coat gun that holds powder with 10-20lbs of air going to it. it also has a power box that supplies an electrical charge to the part and the gun, you have a button you push when you start the coating process, the powder won't stick to the part until you push the button, there is a ground that clips to the part. when you push the button it creates a positive charge to the grounded part, you spray the part till its coated, then you put it in an oven, carefully as to not bump it, the powder will fall off! you bake it in an oven preheated to 450*, when the powder flows it melts and looks like wet paint, once it flows you turn the oven to 400* for about 20 minutes. Take it out or leave it in the oven with it off, to cool, you don't touch until its totally cool ( if you do it will leave you finger prints in the finish ) thats it ,not to hard....
