Blowers and N2O
Ok, so since I think this might merit some open discussion, let's discuss...
I'm thinking about going with a 55 or 75 shot on my car on top of the 7PSI, but have heard mixed reviews on it. I'm certainly not sure about what this engine can take, and I'm obviously being conservative as all heck with my car here. Some guys I've spoken to would recommend upping the boost before going to the bottle; the tune would likely be fairly difficult to dial in given the problems everybody has with this darn computer, not to mention that it's often dual power adder setups that blow in the most spectacular ways. Others believe that a 55 shot would be perfectly safe, and the cooling effect might even negate any extra risk. Not sure I buy this, but a few guys swear up and down that this is the case.
But does anybody here believe that this could be done safely given the fact that this isn't the most robust engine? Pros? Cons? Powerhouse or Vortech guys, you have any input?

If you don't already have nitrous I sure wouldn't add it. It's not worth the money when you can just change out a pulley for more boost. If you already had it installed before you got the blower it might be different.

If you don't already have nitrous I sure wouldn't add it. It's not worth the money when you can just change out a pulley for more boost. If you already had it installed before you got the blower it might be different.
Ill be dry shottin my blown car.... just not the 05 v6 lol.
The cooling effect is nice, but i have to agree that it might be really hard to tune for, and the torque it would creat might be just a tad much for our drivetrain.

If I had a blown car I would be looking at Methonal... Lidio is having great success with methonal on his GT (with the Vortech)... He's trying to talking me into setting MY car up with Nitrous AND Methonal! LOL! Of course I think on Lidio's Mach 1 it's got the blower, nitrous and methonal... LOL! I think the other thing to consider is how well you trust your tuner...
Both mod's increase compression on their own, doubled up it's really pushing the compression up. But if you're going with a 55 shot and 7 PSI, you should be OK since each is conservative on its own. You'd probably still be under the compression of the guy that is pushing 12 psi on his turbo setup! If you're only going on the gas at the track, then you'll probably want to run octane booster to make sure you don't get any detonation. Should make for some fun times at the strip!

My understanding is stuff like +104 Octane booster doesn't really boost your octane all that much...
I told Lidio last week I planned on trying some race fuel next weekend... just for the extra safety... He said to be carefull... Race fuel is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! LOL!
