Hey guys,
I've been looking all over for a manual mustang because I need the VIN number to order the bellhousing for my 4.0 SOHC. I've tried Ford parts with absolutly no help and they said if I can give them a VIN number then they can get a entire parts sheet for a car and get it then but without one I'm lost. I've reviewed every dealer in town's inventory online and even tried building on off the Ford site and still can't get a V6 with a manual.
Does anyone have one? If so would you please send me your VIN number so I can get a bellhousing.
Thanks, Doug.

Ford is still using the T-5 Manual Transmission on V6 Mustangs. As far as I know, this Trans has always had a separate bellhousing. However there are changes Ford has made to the 2005 transmission (shifter location for one), so it is quite possibe that they integrated the bellhousing like on the Tremec 3650 used in the 4.6L GT from '96-current.

Yep, I picked mine up yesterday. V6 Mineral Grey with 5 speed standard.
The shifting is very very smooth, except for going into 5th gear.. It's a bit of a reach to get there, I've found.
Clutch is very nice, although I can feel somewhat of a vibration in the pedal.. I'm not sure if that's just because the car is new, or??
Anyhow, I'm in love with it.
I'll run out to the garage and get the VIN and PM ya.

It was a lot of fun, the car is really a lot of value for the money.
Just don't go for a V6 Auto, it wasn't as much fun..... :nono:

I found reverse hard to engage on any type of a hill. This has gooten less and less noticeable the more miles i get on it. Anyone else noticed this?

Thanks guys,
I've had them order another bellhousing with a different part number and they still got it wrong. The bad part is they got the correct front bearing retainer for the transmission.
On a side note I hate it when the parts guys try to make excuses for Ford, the guy I was using tried to tell me they were just using the same bellhousing for all the engines this year, ahahahahaa. What dumbazz, the starters on the 4.0's aren't even on the same side as the 4.6's. Gee's.
I've got a 4 liter Performance bellhousing that I guess I'll have to use for the T-5 I just wanted to go all Ford parts but until it's right I'll use what I got.
Thanks!! Doug.

If the V6 manual is anything like last years, there was a trick that kept the driver from shifting quickly from 1st to reverse. With my '01 I had to put it in neutral, let off the clutch, re-engage the clutch and shift into reverse. It would usually go in with no muss and no fuss then.
Good luck...I order mine in April. It sounds like with all the delays on the IUP that I may end up with an '06 though.

Yeah runs great and reverse is something less than desired as far as ease to go in to when cold :bang: , noticed that after tranie warms up it is easier to get it in to reverse. Fifth is a long throw though compared to first through fourth.
