The bottom line is that the Pony package is just that, a package, and overall I think it's a desireable one. I personally don't mind the horse/bars/lights for the grill, but that humungous grill mesh has me baffled as to why that was approved.
As far as someone commenting Ford is "blowing it" with the styling cues, the market has a way of correcting missteps there. If it's really, really bad looking, dealers will squeal when they have extra trouble moving cars off the lot, and we'll probably see a revised '07 Pony set
In the end the '06 be nice for those that get it for the handling goodies, etc, and it should be simple enough to swap a grill for those who get it and don't care for that one part.
