Through an e-Bay "Second Chance Offer" I can buy this built Teksid shortblock for $1826 + shipping. What would you do?

call me picky, but I wouldn't pay for something someone else built, let alone over the internet. Unless I knew the person well enough to trust the work was well done, i'd spend the money to build the block myself or have someone qualified do it.

Hi Don,
I know the forum have been down for a few hours and you didn't get much of a responce to your thread before time ran out. But, I think I have to agree with Galaxie. Anything you buy over the internet as a rebuild you have no control over. I know you can get a steel block with all the forged stuff directly from Ford but you would prefer the aluminum block. Have you checked with your local Ford dealer about getting a stock 05 3V block and getting a forged Ford crank and Manley rods and pistons? For sure it will not be cheap but at least you will know what you have to start with. Just my .02 $ BTW, I am still looking for your perfect short block for you. Found a few but if I wouldn't buy them I most surely wouldn't suggest you do. Keep the faith!!!
