WMS and Brenspeed Tune Installed
I like Interstate batteries, and its mostly what we stock at the shop, but man are they an eyesore. Most lines used to be black, or a grey top.
BTW love the WMS setup! Looks great.
Here's the pictures... Someone asked about the color of the new Interstate battery, and you can see it's black, not green, though with a LL car, the green would have been fine for me...
I included a picture of the bag that the weatherstrip came in. There's enough to do two of the installations.

What you may run into now is possible CEL's indicating that your engine is running lean. Unless of coarse you already have a tune for the WMS.
If you remove the fire blanket from the hood the WMS will seal better.
Have someone get in the car and rev the engine while your standing in front of the car. Makes one heck of a "suck'in" noise. Not to be confused with the "ram'in" noise.
Thanks for the pics guys, I'm going to try some weather striping.
WMS is coming out with a new hod blanket to work with the Ram Air box, I should have one soon.
I took my GT to the track Friday for JDM customer day at Raceway Park.
Ist offfical time slip in 38 years.....I know I'm getting old...but had a blast.
60' 2.026
1/8 8.595
1/4 13.303
MPH 103.97
2 runs almost identical....I was told pretty good for stock tires at street weight with Auto and 3.31 gears.

Siverfox,
The overflow tank is from Canton Racing.Check online for best prices.I think I paid $139.00 for it and spent about 4 hours polishing it.Only issue is that you can't use your stock radiator cap.Canton uses the old style caps.I had bought one of the MGW's Chrome GT caps before the WMS upgrade. I was lucky that one of my friends was in need of a nice shiny new Chrome Cap.

Install looks nice.

I'm not sure I see how removing the hood insulator would "help" seal it as it only touches part of the blanket now... That would leave a larger gap and thus more underhood air would get pulled in.
My turbo Regal got much louder intake-airflow-wise when I put the cold air system on it, especially under boost...

It's custom made by WMS, and not one of K&Ns, but it is cleanable just like theirs. I've been considering getting a spare for the future along with that odd coolant tank hose... That would probably be just like buying the thing twice though, lots o' bucks...

How long did it take to install?
That is true.I installed mine last Sept and ran it with the Stock tune until this spring when I got a SCT-2 and 93 Oct. tune from Brenspeed.Never had a problem with the stock 87 tune No codes or issues.Just ran much better than the stock CAI. I have since installed a Saleen and gone to the 95 MM maf.WMS works very well with the Saleen looks good and no interference with the hood or the blower. Just had to get the larger MAF from wmsracing.

I took my time and so it took around 2-1/2 hours, I'd guess... I also put more electrical tape on a few places where the stock wire looms had tape starting to fall off and on that blue piece of wire loom [what the heck is that for anyway??] I also took the time to carefully turn a bunch of the stock hose clamps away from the new coolant tank hose [lower radiator, and both power steering hoses] along with wiping everything under the hood down.
Changing it back would be a pain all right, but not impossible as not everything would have to be changed back [like the small coolant overflow hose LOL]. I don't have to get the car smogged for a while so I'm not too worried, but I will try taking it to someone who is at least willing to test the thing before they fail it [cats and everything else still in place]...
Heck, if the testers really knew what was going on, would removal of that inline filter in the stock intake pipe be legal? How would they know without taking the whole thing apart. God knows how ford got that in there but it took me 10 minutes of hard pounding with a hammer to get the d a m n e d thing out [before I changed to the WMS].

I think it looks very cool, which is one reason I bought it.

100% not true. You need a tune. And if you dont believe me, install the WMS then put the car on a dyno. You may not be getting CEL's but the engine will be running very lean.
Hey wmsmatau; Thanks for asking.I dyno'd it last Wednesday. The new setup worked very well. With stock exhaust and stock 3:55's I end up with.
427 rwhp @ 6200 and the horsepower was still climbing.
404 ft lbs Torque.
The tuner had the a/f almost flat lined at 11.6 Only real issue is the fuel pump max'd out at 5800.Unbelieveable
low end torque like 315 at 2200 and 404 at 4800.All in all I am very happy with the results.R
unning 17x9 275/50 nitto 455's and it spins them over like wheel barrel tires.Next to upgrade the rear suspenssion for sure.New springs and LCA's.I'll tell you I don't know about the other blowers out there for S197's but I love this Saleen setup with the 3.6 pulley boost was about 7.2 at 6200 rpms.About right on the money considering the stock exhaust. To bad she goes into storage next week until spring.
Ok, so the Summit heat film I put on the ram air plate appears to be falling off. Much cursing. I did sand the underside and then washed it before putting it on too... I am afraid it will fall off the bottom and get stuck in the fan... <sigh>
