Who has installed Bassani cats, x and axle-back?

I've done the complete exauhst from header's to tip's (JBA). It's pretty straight forward you should be in good shape. From memory the stock H-Pipe clamp's are 15 mm (might save you a crawling out from under the car socket trip
). Just have some beer on ice, that alway's make's a project go a little better...

Ok, I am just a little nervous never having done anything with the exhaust myself before. Were the O2 sensors easy to change out and did the whole thing line up pretty easy?

I have done the Bassani mufflers and would love to add their x-pipe w/cats like you are I8URVTEC.
I am concerned that replacing the factory cats with Bassani's will make the car run lean, I don't want to tune it though (void factory warranty). Should I be concerned with it going lean and causing the check engine light on? I'm not as concerned with horsepower increase as I am with the way it sounds.
Vegasjay, did you tune yours after replacing the exhaust? How'd it turn out?

I talked to Bassani late last week and they said they had not experienced anyone complaining about the check engine light coming on. They also said that the system did not require a tune. I am concerned about these things myself and would love to hear from someone who has the system installed and what their experiences were.
I do know however that if you do tune the car it won't nessessarily void the factory warrenty b/c you can always put the stock tune back in before taking it to the dealer.

I read it but looking at them put things together is like watching a cooking show where they throw everything together in 10 seconds and pull a perfectly already made one out of the oven. I am just wondering if anyone here has done it and has some tips on problems to watch out for or ways of doing it when you don't have the convienency of having a lift, a dyno and every tool imaginable like the 5.0 guys do.

A piece of advice....consider getting it done at a muffler place. Not because you can't do it, but sometimes is nice to have it all done in an hour for a decent amount of $. I just had my Borla axle-back installed at a place, not at all because I couldn't do it but because it was easier. My garage was a mess, it would be kinda tight on my back even with the ramps......instead for $35 they installed it right in front of me (we me lending a hand or two) on the hoist within 30minutes. I took the keys back and that was it ![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just a thought anyway.
If you decide to install it yourself (as I think you will), good luck! I'm sure it'll be pretty rewarding to do it yourself and you'll save some $.

I like to do it myself, mainly because the place I normally use said they would do it for $60. They are the best around, but I don't want everyone's hands all over my new baby.

Sometimes is better to do it yourself. Though, the left muffler was a pain to get off even on the lift so it would have been a real pita at home.
