White Gauge Faces?

Has anybody installed white gauge face overlays on an S197 GT? I put a MAC on a 2000 GT several years ago and it wasn't too tough, just wondered how these new ones were to change. If so, do they work OK with the "My Color" option? Just thinking! I am looking at the gauges from NR Auto.

The white overlays are 20 bucks on ebay and go on easily. The dash pod PULLS out after you adj. the tilt wheel to full down. Then a few screws come out and you unplug the wiring harness. Make a note of where your needles all point with the key OFF because you will need to adj them. The decal just slides over the needle and you squiggle them a little to line them up. Use PLENTY of soapy water. They come with all the directions.....I find I can see the white guages better in the daytime. The black ones were like they werent even there.(old age?)

Goldenpony, you might want to give the guys at USSpeedo a call. They are very helpful, even if you don't buy their stuff. The gauges on our cars are different from the ones in the SN-95's. I had a fun time trying to get the pointers back on correctly in my '96. These new ones are apparently a little easier to get back, since they're all electronic. I didn't put the white faces on myself (too chicken to do it on a new car, and my manual dexterity ain't what it used to be).

But, yes what 07 HOSS says is right. The gauge cluster comes out a lot more easily than did the ones in the SN-95's. Once you get the cowling cover pried off, there is a lot of direct access. You just need to pry it outward at the left hand edge near the door. It's held on by four spring clips.
