So, let me get this straight. I can get the Whipple Supercharger which makes over 450 hp at 8psi, or I can get the Saleen which barely gets over 400 hp at 5psi, both for $4,995. Is there something about the Saleen (other than the priviledge of having their name on it) that justifies the Saleen blower? Sounds to me that for twin-screw type blowers, the Whipple is more bang-for-your-buck.

Nice numbers for only 8psi of boost. Unfortunately I doubt the stock short block would last very long. Does the "BIG BANG THEORY" ring a bell??? You would need to upgrade the short block with forged internals. Livernois Motorsport has forged rotating assemblys starting at $1650 or you could buy a complete short block with forged internals for $3295.
Short Block - http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=36
Rotating Assembly - http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...t.phtml?p=1001
Best thing about Livernois short block and rotating assembly is that they are stroker kits giving 302ci from the 4.6L block.
So lets see, $4995 for the blower + $3295 for the stroker short block + 15lbs of boost = ONE FREAKIN SICK 05/06 MUSTANG GT!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

You can get the Saleen from distributors for $4600. So, you could add a Diablo and basically have about the same bang for buck (assuming you get a smaller pulley for the Saleen for the equivalent boost). They both have the same 2300cc compressor.

Sure you could. The problem is no one really knows how strong these motors are. I'd be willing to bet that with cast not forged internals it wouldn't last long but then that's just my opinion. It's possible that with a good tune and only 8 lbs of intercooled boost that the motor would be fine. If your willing to take a gamble then go for it!!!
