Whipple Hose misplaced?
Whipple Hose misplaced?
Can anyone tell me were the hose goes that's on the driver side rear of the whipple manifold? The hose can be seen in this photo under the throttle body flange.

The GT/CS is running like crap today and I open the hood and hear a sucking noise. Car stalls and I get a check engine light. P2195 lean.
Plug the vacuum leak and everything runs fine.
But the plug or hose is nowhere to be found...
Also the whipple manifold gasket is ripped and blown out on the second bolt from the front (#2 of 5 ). So something bad happen at the track yesterday.....
Thanks

this hose connects to the Fuel rail pressure sensor.
that's the black sensor on top of the driver side fuel rail which has an electric connection and a hose plugged in to it.
all the issues you described are normal.
without the hose plugged in, you're sucking unmetered air into the engine, and the fuel pressure sensor is not getting any boost/vaccum feedback.

Ok thanks, I looked at the fuel rail pressure and temp sensor. The vacuum port on the sensor has a brass plug in it. I'll have to ask Evolution about that. So that vacuum elbow must have had a cap on it. Wonder what made the over pressure condition?
Wow Thanks for the photo. That's service!
I see where hose is on yours I was wrong about the it being plugged...
The Evolution boys brought the hose from the sensor around to the other side of the blower and "Teed" it in...

it's possible then that Evolution didn't map the fuel pressure to the boost/vacuum, but rather set the WOT fuel pressure to something like 60-65PSI at all times, regardless of the boost.
in which case the fuel rail pressure sensor would be plugged, and the hose should be capped too.
there's no overboost here really.. this line will be in boost if you are, so i guess the cap was a bit loose and it came off with time.
you can remove the nozzle and hose from the back of the whipple discharge plate and plug it properly with a matching bolt to avoid this happening in the future
