Whipple Charged 08 CS/GT...what gears ?

should I stick with the stock 3:31s (my 05 had 3:55), 3:55s, 3:73s, or 4:10s ??

I think a 4:10 would be a bit much for a TS stang, but 3:73s seem like a good middle ground.

???

If it were me i would leave it stock because those t/s have soo much torque down low but you know more than me...

I run 4.10's and I think they're great for my application.

Unless you take it to the track often, and are concerned with having to shift again without a taller tire...

My GT/CS has 3.55s, with the whipple. I haven't had it a track yet but just driving around it seems to 4.10s would be to much.

I would NOT go more then 373s...IMO I would drive it with 331s and see how you like it before thinking of a change

I have had 373 gears for a long time and when I was N/A I wished I had gone with the 410's. Now that I have an S/C the 373's make 1st and 2nd gears fishtail like crazy and I've thought about going back the the stock 355's ... Is yours an auto with the 331 gears ?

4.10's seem very steep for a supercharger. I'm running them now with an automatic transmission, but I'll probably change down to 3.73's or even 3.55's after the manual goes in.

It depends on the if your taking it to the track again. Depending on what kind of traction and suspension peices you have to grab the surface, the higher (numerically) could be an advantage.

I'm going to 3:73s with a TS in the future, but plan on throwing on some DR's and suspension parts.

IMO, it's all about where you want your grunt. If and when I go FI, I'm gonna keep my 410's. I know people who have kept theirs after FI and are very happy with the setup... however, they can't run ANY street tire either. They run DR's on the street for traction. That WOULD be a downside depending how much you drive your car. At the current rate I drive my car right now, I'd be going through 2 sets of DR's every year at least.

I'm temped all the time to change the gears, but think it would be a bit much changing from 3:55's.

well, here's the thing guys, on my Whippled 05 GT 5spd I had the 3:55s which where standard at the time. As you know, 3:31 is now standard, and I'm just wondering how much the 3:31 gearing will affect my acceleration. BTW, I have a 5spd.

I plan to go to the track (or autocross) on occasion, but it won't be a regular racer.

wow...

those are some impressive numbers you are putting down. Is that on a stock block? No wonder you're sticking with the 3:31s !
