Where to hook up my Autometer Cobalt guage lights?

I am putting in my Autometer Colbalt Guages today and was wandering if anyone had them hooked into the light switch? I really don't want them on all the time with the key switch. Any help? Trying to get them in today. Thanks Rob

I mounted mine in the dash between the vents. You can use the harness feeding the info buttons. Tap into the solid yellow for your (+) positive and the solid black on the same harness for your (-) ground for the light. Using these wires will allow the gauge lights to come on and dim with the light switch.

Here is a thread from another board someone put together documenting the install.

Since you're doing the SOS pod, just pop out the light switch panel. Reach up behind the dash and pop it out towards you or carefully pry it out from the front. You can get the illumination wire there, or do what I did and power them off of the dimmer wire so that they will dim when you dim the dashlights in the car.

That's how I did mine. I just tapped into one of the dimmer switch wires.
