Was it a clunking noise? I still get that now and then. Haven't felt like getting under there to pull the upper to check it and it hasn't gotten worse. Seems like some people have the problem and some don't. Steeda thought I had a loose bolt, but even the dealer re-torqued everything for me when they noticed the noise and said it was the upper making the noise. They said it was binding. It's not like there is much to the darn thing! If I remember correctly, when I checked last, when I grabbed the upper and tried to move it up and down I can get it to click.

I replaced the stock LCAs on the '06 manual I used to own with some aftermarket LCAs and it helped but didn't cure my wheelhop. So you might need some other parts to go with the LCAs. Ironically my '07 auto has no hop what so ever.

The upper helped more than the lowers for me.

Did your dash sound like it was going to fall in your lap like mine did? I just imagined stuff falling out from under the car. That's a crappy feeling when you are at the track a hundred miles from home.

I just ordered BMR lower control arms non-adjustable and now I'm hearing about lots of noise. I don't have and never have had any wheel hop but my car wants to go sideways when I hit 2nd gear and I was told that this would help the problem. I'm putting 275/50 on this weekend and replacing the 255/50 rears so I might have wheel hop after that, who knows?

When I put bigger wheels and tires on the back, the wheel hop just about went totally away. It cured it better than putting the lowers on. But who knows, maybe they are just better balanced than the stockers.

Subscribing...

I have wheel hop in my '06 manual. I have Roush springs so I'm not sure what the best LCA upgrade will be. Since it's lowered, do I need relocation brackets?

It's funny about someone mentioning a tire change solving the wheel hop. My '89 GT had horrible wheel hop with the 16" pony wheels after I swapped in a 3.55 gear. I went to a 17" and DR's and it went away totally. I then went back to the 16's before I sold it and it was still gone. Weird... That leads me to believe that there are many factors that can contribute to wheelhop.

Absolutely. I couldn't believe a stock car could have such a problem.
