You sure you just want the non intercooled version? Believe me once you get a taste of this power, you will want more... Get the HO kit after the fact is gonna COST you, that's the only reason I am bringing it up.

The MAIN thing you need is a GREAT tune. You don't need forged internals at the 405hp level, anything over like 450 is pushing it, but there are guys getting a little more than that here. I know the HO kit comes with the GT500 fuel pumps to handle those HP levels... So not sure if it is necessary. Gauges are always good, but not necessarily needed as long as the tune is good. You can always add them later just so you can keep an eye on things.

The main thing I would be worried about is the TUNE and BRAKES.... I'm not sure how you drive, but I know I needed them.. Car shook like He_ _ when I was in the triple digits trying to slow down... It made the car not even fun to drive anymore until I got a big brake kit.

Hope this helps.

i would highly recommend going with the HO intercooled kit! Intercooled is good!! its better than driving non intercooled, for the sheer fact that superchargers do create heat due to the twin screw blades causing convectional heat. heat is bad for the motors!! heat = detonation! the tune that comes with the HO kit is right on the money with A/F and timing, it is also very conservative putting down tremendous power. so the tune issue is something you dont need to worry about.

as far as other parts, I would invest in Lower Control Arms & Upper Control arms to control wheel hop.

Gauges, I have them with my whipple, but I have them for 2 purposes. Boost/vaccuum to see if the supercharger is working properly and to see if I have any belt slip. thats a plus to have! I run fuel pressure gauge to make sure that the fuel pump is working properly and that the engine is being delivered the right amount of fuel needed to run the blower.

and lastly, Brakes!! Your gonna have the power to go, but slowly your stock brakes are gonna give and your gonna need stopping power. I dont mean they are gonna give meaning they are gonna fail, the pads will wear out quicker and so will the rotor.

if you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me.

Pretty O/T, but would it surprise you that for $600 more you could get the H.O. full intercooled version of the kit (NOT TUNER)

1. Proper fuel delivery. The extra money for the GT500 is worth it in terms of safety.
2. GOOD TUNE!! This is the most important factor in longevity
3. A/F guage. This should be the first gauge you buy. It immediately tells you if their is a tuning and/or mechanical issue affecting the air/fuel ratio. Running LEAN = Detonation.

even the 10psi pulley will be safe. its all in the tune, and as I've said before, the FRPP whipple tune is right on the money where it should be. goign on 2 1/2 years with the tune and 0 problems! and I beat the hell out of it!
