What happened to my pops and crackles?

Previously I just had a Diablosport canned 87 octane tune with my SLP Loudmouth mufflers. On deceleration it would pop and backfire and crackle like crazy, sounded mean and nasty. I then added a C&L Racer CAI and a Bamachips 91 octane tune. While this picked up the performance of the car, the deceleration popping and backfiring is now gone. What happened to it and how can I get it back?

Haha, re-reading this now, could I have explained this in a more lame way? Lol.

The airflow is cleaned up alot with the addition of the CAI and GOOD tune. It does effect the exhaust sound a great deal.

If I'm remembering what I was taught a long time ago correctly... that popping and cracking is unburnt fuel which means a bad tune. While it sounds badass... it means you weren't getting all the performance you could have been. I have a C&L Racer, Borla Stingers and Doug's 93 Race tune and I occasionally get very faint pops and crackles.

That's what I was afraid the answer was going to be. I just had the factory intake previously. Oh well, I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't do this any more, however yes, it did sound badass.

My car pops on decel with just the stock programming and stock airbox. I even heard it pop so loud shifting into second at slow speed that it sounded like a gunshot. These cars are obviously set rich from the factory. All I've got so far is SLP Powerflow axleback.
