Yes, you will have more road noise with that control arm.

No doubt you will. And I speak from daily personal experience. But it doesn't bother me. Hooking up is my priority, not NVH.

+1, they will be more noisy. For your average street car, I'd stick with the regular bushing. But for all-out, kickass, built & blown cars that can call down the thunder like Don's, then yep who cares lol!

OK I will be the one to say otherwise.
Replacing the UCA alone will eliminate wheel hop.
The factory UCA has a hydra-mount bushing in it which allows the rear axle to rotate causing wheel hop.
I had to remove my LCA's till a new set of bushings arrived since I split one of them by using a grease gun.
I ran my best ET N/A with the factory LCA's in the vehicle.
There was absolutely no wheel hop.
I am not saying not to replace the LCA's since repeated abuse will eventually kill the stock LCA bushings. All I'm saying is that the proper solution is the UCA. An adjustable uca will also allow for pinion angle adjustments which are required for lowered cars.

Not to hijack, but how bad is wheel hop for the driveline (from flywheel to wheelnuts)?

I'd like to take care of this too.

Thanks,

I had the hop whenever I kept the rpms around 4500; if I went higher the hop mostly went away. However if the roads were wet (yes Don I know it doesn't rain in Cali, you SOB ), the car would hop anytime the tires spun.

Honestly since I put the Steedas on last June, I haven't had any hop either on the street or track. That's with all other suspension stock and stock tires. I don't doubt that the UCA would solve the problem too, but the LCAs seemed easier for me to install and try out.

It's pretty clunky in my car, especially on less-than-smooth roads. People who get irked by rattles and squeaks should stick to the poly ends, IMO.

Hey Guys,
Got a question I've been dying to ask for a while about wheel hop. Here goes " are the auto trans less prone to wheel hop?" I know I can't just dump the clutch at 5K like you manual guys but I can powerbrake her in 2nd gear and once I get everything rotating I have really never had any wheel hop. Why's that? I have done burnouts on slick parking lots, black top roads , concrete and even the tar and graveled roads around here. On none of these surfaces have I ever had any wheel hop. BTW, I am still on the stock Pirelli's. Any guesses?

Hey Scott, what rpm are you turning when you do that? Like I mentioned above, if I took my car up high to 5000+, then most times my hop was gone. I only had it if I stayed around 4000 to 5000 rpm.

Just my thoughts......

Well... in my auto I just start at idle... put the trans in 2nd gear... left foot on the brake... right foot on the gas.... push the gas until the tires start to rotate... than nail the gas and ease off the brake and she will usually rev until she hits the rpm limiter if I don't back out of it. And no wheel hop.

If you occasionally hit the limiter than you're probably higher in the rpm range than where I was having trouble at. That's good- you don't want the hop because in my car it felt and looked like the entire dash was gonna end up laying on your lap.

You know you've experienced wheelhop when you've seen the dash bouncing back and forth a few inches.

ya clunks and rattles drive me nuts lol. i am going to go with the poly bmr ones, the UCA and the boxed sub frames. im sick of all the rattles from driving in nyc lol. do the LCAs hurt cornering performance? i was reading that since they are so stiff, they dont allow the axle to stay in contact with the road when going thru corners?

Oh I know I don't want the dreaded hop. I've had cars that would hop so bad that it would shake your teeth loose. But remember... I am starting at idle and building up to max rpm. I am not starting at 5K like you manual guys.
