What did I buy??
Hello everyone!
My Firebird ate it about a week ago. After taing a break from fords for several years I spotted this mustang at a local dealership my good friend works at. During the test drive I couldnt help giggling like a kid everytime the suprcharger kicked in. I bought it 10 minutes later. Heres the embarassing problem...
I virtually know nothing about Mustangs, or their performance parts. I do know it has a Roush kit, TCI ratchet shift, electronic exhaust cutout, and a sticker in the engine compartment signed by Mario Andretti that says "organ donor".
Sad to say if it was my oldl car I could tell people anything about it. Now, I'm just a little embarassed when someone asks about it and I really have no clue...
I'm including some pictures while I spend hours scouring these boards looking for other info. If anyone can tell me what the hell I actually bought, what the approximate hp rating would be, what the 196 decal means on he bumper I'd really appreciate it.

Just tell them you have a bada$$ piece of engineering and thats all they need to know lol. Blower looks beautiful though. Just look up the car on wikipedia, that'll give you a good general idea. As far as the hp, it's gonna be hard to say. With the blower, I'd guess at somewhere near 400rwhp. Have fun man

I do believe that the 196 is what order the car was built. I have a friend who has a Saleen, that is what his number on the bumper means. If it's a Roush, maybe they do the same thing.

Send a PM to our forum member ARBO. I believe you may have his old car.

Looks like he sold it in September. https://themustangsource.com/f669/checking-out-499957/
360 RWHP - https://themustangsource.com/f669/dy...r-mods-496618/
4.10 gears - https://themustangsource.com/f669/4-...e-sick-472095/
Track numbers: 4/9/11 12.3 sec, 1/4 mile @ 112 mph
Arrived in March 2008, stock photos: https://themustangsource.com/f748/its-here-466002/
I know he promoted organ donation, so I'm guessing the "organ donor" sticker is something personal to him. Same thing w/ the "196" since I see it has a heart w/ a D (Donor?) in the middle, probably something of personal significance to him, but nothing regarding a custom builder such as Saleen or Roush.
What you have is a tastefully modded Mustang GT, modded by an ordinary Joe who by all accounts seems to be a better than ordinary guy.

Thanks John!!
Thats my car. I was reading through some of the previous posts and thouroughly enjoyed them. Original asking price was around 36k and was able to get it around 29. I absolutely love everything about this car and think ARBO did an amazing job. The way the dealer explained it was its a Mustang with 15k in bolt ons.
I absolutely love this car. It's a beast and not changing a thing.

Man, I'm glad I stopped by TMS this am.
Well, congradulations on buying one bad a** SS (Super Stang in Ford terms). You got a 100% perfect car, I know it was mine. I live in Kennewick and will be glad to "lurn you up" on every aspect of your new Camero, Challenger, factor Roush, stock GT 500, eating machine. That's right, I've beat'em all with that car at the track in Wapato. All you need is the DOT drag radials I have to keep the grip.
You'll be glad you are back in a Ford with that beauty, which is a beast.
To clear things up, the D in the heart is in rememberence of Dave, the man (my Hero) whom was an organ donor from which I got my new heart in 2006. #196, I was the 196th heart transplant recipient at Sacred Heart Hospital. When Mario signed my car and I ask asked if he was an organ donor. He said yes and was glad to add that to his autograph.
You've got one hell of a great car there. I'll PM you my phone #.
PS By the way, the dealer has some trophies I won in car shows that I asked to go with the car.
And thanks for the kind words John
