UDP's are you still happy with your choice

Actually, you can thank George (Blazing Saddles) for the info. He's the one that told me. I just replied before he saw the questions!

If the pump adds anything substaintial (in addition to the UDP install), I may have to treat myself to one for the holidays (pick one).

What about if you plan to put a large sound system...UDP still a good idea? Do they make a HO alt for the GT yet??

With the headlights and fog lights on, heater running, and stereo running on the higher end of it's ability, I've not noticed any dimming of the lights or the volt gauge dipping or fluctuating, so it seems to keep up pretty well. But like I mentioned above, a "BIG" set-up probably draws a lot more current than the Shaker 1000 does.
Also, my car does have the factory Anti-Theft Alarm, which includes an upgrade to a higher-capacity battery than is standard without the alarm.
Another belt number is size 990K6 from autozone at a cost of around $23. That would be a Duralast belt.
I do not have numbers for the pulleys and pump together. Because of timing and my schedule when I did the pump I was not able to do a before/after on the same day and I installed 4.30's at the same time. I can tell you though it did add power that I could feel and the car did make more on the dyno. I just did not get to do a good before and after with only the pump install.
Meziere and Steeda are both top names in there industry and I wouldn't worry about quality. Because both companies are good if there ever was an issue they support what they sell on pretty much a no questions asked basis. They just fix the problem. That is why I work with both of them.
I also agree on the stereo issue. I have always told customer if you are going to set your car up with a crazy aftermarket stereo you are worried about charging dont get pulleys. If you have a stock car that is loaded it never seems to be an issue. Actually even with the stereo what you get is dimming at idle and it still charges fine when driving for the most part.

Does the stock crank pulley have a rubber isolator (looks like it)? If so, can an aftermarket pulley without one create any long term issues? Or will our engines be blown anyway long before then...

I don't know much about cars so I have no idea about this.
Well, I can tell you that I have two Kicker KX650.4 amps in my car and my lights do not dim one bit. I also have a big azz cap that sits between the amps and the battery that has a distribution block on the top of it and digital voltage readout. At idle, with the stereo turned up to a painful volume, the amps have +12.5v going to them and no dimming at all.
But then again if you are going to run a big stereo you should have a cap in the system, just good sense.

I hate to hi-jack this thread, but this is the first I've heard of this. Can anyone confirm? Is that documented anywhere?

There is a quote in the Media/Press Release Ford issues on the vehicles. It states "....and a high-capacity, 60-ampere-hour battery that sounds the alarm longer." Here is a link to the press release. The quote is on page 3 under the Safety & Security" section of the page....

Also, in the owners manual, there are 2 different batterys listed in the parts number section. They are...
Battery -- BXT-96R
Battery - (with High Electrical content) -- BXT-40R
That quote is located on Page 228 of the 2006 Owner's Manual, and here is a link to that.....

A little something extra most people don't even know they have.
