turn off traction control
is there any way other than a chip to turn off the traction control and it stay off until i want it back on?i know you can turn it off with the switch on the dash but i dont want to have to do that every time i get in the car.

And keep in mind that if you turn it off with the chip, you lose the ability to turn it back on; it's off for good. I had my tuner revert mine back to stock since I want to be able to have TCS when I need it.
Just use the button on the dash - it's a pain, but it's the best solution we have now.

I've actually noticed that the TC in our GT's is not at ALL intrusive when im trying to have some fun. Last night I was coming home with a friend who has a 2000 GT, and I basically did a 360 with TC on!
I sometimes turn it off, though, since I can sometimes *sometimes* control the car better when the rear slides out.

PEP Traction Adapter
Not sure if it works on the 2005+, but this is the best answer if it does.

Don't quote me on it, but i KNOW I read something on a faulty traction module...

This is a true statement. When you load a tune with the traction control turned off, it sends the ABS module a value other than it expects, defaulting the system off. In other words, even the switch won't turn it back on.
Personally, I'll just drive with it on, and turn it off (at the track) when I need to.
Mine never sees snow or rain so i want to delete it because i am always afraid I will forget to shut it off when I pull up to make a run.

I've done that, I've even made runs with Traction Control and A/C on.

The A/C is good for those sweaty palms!
