So if I had to buy all these parts and pay a mechanic to do the install, how much would it cost in total assuming a labor cost of around $100/hr.

I think about 20 hours would be a good estimate and would give you a good buffer space for any issues that might pop up. You have a really cheap mechanic :P

Ok may be $100 is too cheap. Let's say $150/hr

So parts are around $3500 ?

Labor is $150 x 20 = $3000

So grand total is around $6500 ??

I think that would be a good estimate. You should not pass more than that for sure!

All quality shops are over $100 an hour. Go to your local Ford dealer and I'm sure their rate is over $100.

I'm sure there are discount shops everywhere that have something similar to $48, but would you really want a shop like that do a turbo install on your mustang?

Hahahahahaha THE FORD DEALER IS A QUALITY SHOP?!?!?!?!?!?! Lamotta Performance charges about $60 per hour. Google him, quite far from a discount shop. Just because the rate is affordable doesn't mean the work is poor. But if you want to pay someone $150 per hour to change your brake pads, more power to ya pal. Wow lol. Thanks for the laugh haha

Well, no turbo for me since I'll have to spend about 6 to 7 grand

I don't have the time, knowledge, tools or patience to do the install myself.

I also don't have another car so you can add a car rental to the total price which will be about $40/day.

My total was $4600.
Tools you'd need are basic tools:
-ramps
-some car supports - i only used 2 ramps for the front and that was plenty for me to work under the entire car... lucky for me I am skinny
-good set of ratchet & socket stuff
-a few wrenches
-hammer
-hole punch
-threading tool - $10
-soldering iron for MAF extension
-power drill

I think that's about it. With patience and having all tools ready... it is doable in about 1 weekend.

If you decide to do it, I can give ya my # and you can call and I could help out over the phone.

Yea it really has to do mostly with the location. I'm in a rural area so rates are lower. The ford dealer in Daytona gets $96 an hour. And they do a terrible job.
