Tune Gets Better Over Time?????
I posted a couple weeks back that I went to the track with my new JLT Cold Air Kit and Bamachips tunes for a test and tune session. I didn't think I ran what I was supposed to at the time. Maybe it was a little warmer than the first time, maybe I didn't let the car cool down all the way, maybe I might have spun a little bit going into 2nd (from my cousin who was with me; I never really noticed it in the car, claims I spun them for like 10 feet going into 2nd), whatever. Car didn't really feel all that fast that night. Swapped tunes back and forth a few times, got my best time to date with the 93 Torque tune. Loaded the 93 Performance last and left it.
The last few days, something really weird has happened. The car feels 100% better and A LOT faster.
I don't know if any of you have experienced it, but wow. It's been 85-90 and really humid lately, and it feels a ton faster, as if I just installed the tune on it.
Maybe I got a bad load of gas or something when I took it to the track? Is there some adaptive learning that takes place when the tune is installed?
Either way, this thing feels A LOT better all of a sudden, and I can't figure it out. I'm happy, just a little puzzled. Think I'm going to wait until the fall to take it back to the track and try and mimic the conditions I had the first time I ran it.

I've wondered that as well.
A buddy of mine (from a long time ago) went to school to be a Ford mechanic.
He told me that if you disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes, then hooked it back-up; you could then drive the hell out of it for a few miles and it would run with a much more aggressive profile. Mostly gains made from the transmission shift points being adjusted by the comp. This was in the late 80's and am not sure if it was true even then?????

i would guess bad gas.
The computer does learn how you drive and optimizes for thoe perameters. Like he said, disconnec the battery for about 10 minutes, reload the tune and drive it like you stole it. The first 5 minutes in the car after reconnecting the battery and reloading the tune, the computer is in learning mode. after that the perameters are pretty much set. Did you disconnect your battery lately?

Maybe its just in your head? I know Ive felt like my car felt faster at certain times, but I figured it was a combo of weather and my mind thinking it should be faster than it was LOL
